I am not untouchable
For I am human
In my tangibility

I have become less of late
And my words have become such

Oblivion calls my name

We strive, trying to much
In a world that rewards broken hearts
With broken promises
As a final kiss
On the lips of a coffin slumber

You did not find the truth you were looking for in my words
Yet the honesty was in your intentions
This is weights and you are a measure

burns, seared
into my flesh -
every mistake,
every wrong
turn, every lie,
everything
I have ever done.
can you see it?
feel the heat of it?
I live in  fear
of the day
you touch
my skin again
and read it on me
like braille.

I used to be terrified
Lights on all the time
Even a glimmer
To keep it from enveloping
Me
My thought
So scared of blindness
A battle I fought
Many years
And yet now I stand
Eyes gouged out by fears
Seconds into months and into years
Standing on a precipice
Slipping back in darkness
