how can I tell her
that it's not always worth it
slipping under sheets with him
late at night

how can I tell her
that it's not always the truth
what you see standing
in the reflection of the mirror

how can I tell her
that buying another pack
and smoking another stick
isn't going to save her

how can I tell her
she'll one day stop
hopelessly loving him
the way she does now

how can I tell her
putting her mouth around
another bottle is just her
making another mistake

how can i tell her
crushing another pill
and snorting another line
won't silence the demons in her head

how can I tell her
all these oh so simple things
when truthfully I'm not so sure
I can believe them myself
One step behind the other,
I keep my eyes ahead.
I'll keep myself together
If I watch where I have tread.

I'm sure I'm being hunted
By monsters in the night.
Not sure if I've been stunted,
Or if this is their true height.

But if the shadows wavered,
Or gave way to my stare,
I'd sing instead of quaver
And stand with shoulders square.

No time to sit and panic
Or just wait for the dawn.
Until I leave the manic,
I must keep trudging on.

Wait until I'm with you,
And then I might break down.
Take comfort when it's through,
When at last pain makes a sound.

Just save me a seat in the closet
I'm fighting my fears now:
Fear was the one to cause it,
But I will answer how.

i tried to make you understand
that i am nothing like her.
but you only knew her name.
so I turned to leave.
only then did you learn
what my name feels like
in your mouth.

I was born on April 5th.
That makes me an Aries.
I don't really know what that means.
I'm 5' 5", I weigh 109 pounds, I don't know how to swim and I'm a sucker for a boy with a nice smile and clean sneakers.
I'm still learning how to whisper.
I'm often loud in places where I should be quiet.
I'm often quiet in places where I should be loud.
I was born feet first and I've been backward ever since.
I like Dr. Pepper.
A lot.
I've been told that I give really bad hugs.
People say it feels like I'm trying to escape.
Sometimes it's because I am.
Secretly I get really nervous every time someone gets close enough to hear me breathe.
I have this odd fascination with things like sand castles and ice sculptures, I assume it's because I usually find dedicating time to things that will only last a few moments.
That's also why I tend to fall in love with boys who will never love me back.
I know it sounds crazy but it's actually much easier than it seems and to be honest, I think its safer that way.
See, relationships, they often remind me that I'm not afraid of heights or falling, but I'm scared of whats going to happen the moment that my body hits the ground.
I'm clumsy.
Yesterday I tripped over my self-esteem, I landed on my pride and it shattered like an iPhone with a broken face.
Now I can't even tell whos trying to give me a compliment.
I've never been in the military but I have this purple heart.
I got it from beating myself up over things I cant fix.
I know this sounds weird but sometimes I wonder what my bedsheets say about me when I'm not around.
I wonder what the curtains would do if they found out about all the things I've done behind their back.
I've got a hamper that's overflowing with really, really loud mistakes and a graveyard in my closet.
I'm afraid that if I let you see my skeletons you'll grind my bones into powder and get high on my fault line.
Hi.
My name is Callie.
I enjoy Arnold Palmers, warmth from the Sun, and laughing for absolutely no reason at all.
But I don't allow myself to cry as often as I need to.
I have solar-power confidence.
I have a battery operated smile.
My hobbies include editing my life story, hiding behind metaphors, and trying to convince my shadow that I'm someone worth following.
I don't know much, but I do know this.
I know heaven is full of music.
I know God listens to my heartbeat on an iPod.
It reminds him that we still got work to do.

Some days you feel like you need to write something.
I know I'm not relatable, don't be too worried.
But today is one of those days where writing nothing,
Feels like betrayal hurried.

Some days you wish you could disappear.
I can't decide whether today is one of those days or not.
My crush disappears at 1:55 I fear,
But it's not like I ever enter his thoughts.

But some days aren't like that.
Some days you think there's nothing at all.
When in reality your mind is filled with chitchat.
You feel ready to fall
Right out of your seat
But that's alright.

Lunch sounds kind of boring,
But I suppose it's the people there who count.
My friends are always kind of alluring
They're some of the best people I've found.

You think someday someone will sit next to you
And you'll know it's them,
But you realize few
People find it's them.

I'm one of those people who finds the empty parts of the hallway to walk in.
Luckily, my friends are too, so I'll see them there, in the empty parts of the hallway.
Sorry I just kind of wrote on the page today so it's there and unorganized and beautiful in its own way.
