The Table
Sanek May 2020
A glorious sight befell my eyes
A pristine untouched bearer of supplies
Made of wood, of steel, or anything buildable
The Table

Possessing an essence unlike anything else
Hearkening to an unalterable purpose and tableness
Providing unending sustenance on a platform that's stable
The Table

Though the lingering presence in this perceptual world is illusory
The unchanging, uncleft presence is perfection conceptually
Artisanal glyphs adorn its sides unmatchable
The Table

While strife and pandemonium reign in this material domain
There remains a bastion of stability man cannot attain
Indeed, this mystical countenance attains a fable
The Table

Weathered and wizened through inummerable epochs
Joyous outpourings bestow praise not enough
Remaining of unmatchable nature even with the made-in-China label
The Table

...wait
Sanek Jul 2020
I wait for the last ten minutes to pass
I wait for the last nine minutes still
I wait for the last eight minutes
I wait for seven minutes
I wait six minutes more
I wait now for five
I wait for four
I wait here
I wait

To My Magical Poet
Sanek Jan 2021
A flurry of magic emerging from hand
Strengthening ties through the playing of land
The power of green and her mana filled plays
Brought forth through the choice of her mighty pathways

Ultimate power paid through the blood price
An unholy ritual borne of sacrifice
The power of black till the goal has been seized
The potence of death through this color unleashed

With the power of instinct a rapid quick strike
And the duel is over in the speed of light
The power of red passion boiling inside
And hastily wrought as the battlefield's fried

Through carefully studying the knowledge of old
To ponder upon what the future may hold
The power of blue seeks control till the end
And counters against what their opponent may send

But hope glimmers still in the darkest of night
And not all is lost when there is still light
The power of white unites the steadfast
A determined struggle from the first to the last

Decks filled with creatures great and small
A decision to make to go wide or go tall?
Colors of five: red, white, blue, black, and green
Spells cast in hand what a magical scene

None of those spells are as enchanting as you
My magical poet of red, white, and blue

Mask
Sanek May 2020
It is a delicate thing a mask
So small, small, small yet
Fragile
My mask is carefully fashioned,
Crafted and shaped
Flawless but for a crack on the side I
Drape and drape my hair over
It is fine
No one notices
Or cares
Sometimes I wonder why I wear it
But when I get home
Staring at the mirror I am reminded
Why it must be so
My mask is my companion and friend
My harshest critic and my enemy
Yet it has been with me through ups and downs
Highs
And lows
The only constant in life
And sometimes when I’m alone
A tear drops
From the crack on the side
I was working on a Literature assignment for about two hours when I decided that poem I was writing wasn't great, so I started all over and wrote this in five minutes.

Bite
Sanek May 2020
Red and pulsating, nice and warm

Growing larger as my head leans down

To taste the dripping juice so sweet to the tongue

I take a bite out of the apple I’m having for lunch

Writer's Block
Sanek Jul 2020
Sometimes I don’t know what to say
When I put my thoughts into writing
But what I do know here today
Is that I want to write down something

It’s time to let myself go
It is time for me to see
No matter going fast or slow
As long as thoughts roam free

Starting is always the hardest part
When it comes to writing poetry
But as long as it comes from the heart
Then that’s good enough for me

Bad and good, big and small
My poems come in many kinds
“Skill” doesn’t matter, if at all
What matters is that they’re mine
Sometimes I just need to remind myself that I write because I want to write

Love is like the water
It nourishes and brings life
Through blood
Unaffected by the rocks along its way
Following the paths in its place
Yet remains strong
Floating things upon its surface
Concealing the depths within

Love is like the wind
It nourishes and brings life
Through breath
Floating through the air
Unseen but still there
Yet remains strong
Blowing what needs to be blown far away
Cooling the storms within

Love is like the earth
It nourishes and brings life
Through skin
Holding the foundational base
Steadfast throughout all the days
Yet remains strong
Weathering the changing seasons
Holding sacred treasures within

Love is like the fire
It nourishes and brings life
Through warmth
Burning away the old mildew
Allowing things to begin anew
Yet remains strong
Forging life in its cleansing flames
Blazing the future within

Love is Mud
Sanek Jul 2020
Love is mud
Though it starts unbaked
Soft
Through the burning of the sun
The passing of the days
It hardens and forms a structure that stands
The test of time
Handled with patience and care
Even the ***** and unformed
Can become something beautiful

The Fall
Sanek Aug 2020
Love is described in stories as a fall
Deep into the unknown embracing all
The little things coming your way
And the blowing wind as it rushes past your face
Many people have warned against it
Some have been caught or have been hurt by it
The bottom is dangerous they say
Love is a trap in many ways
But though I know that love hurts at times
For to say that a fall does not hurt is a lie
It is a fall I take and gladly do

My Poetry
Sanek Jun 2020
As you can see

My kind of poetry

Ain’t metaphorical or flowery

But then again

My poetry is simply me
Just a random thought I had while working on a personal project

Journey
Sanek Jul 2020
Are you lonely?
Let’s go on a journey!
Just take my hand
Let’s fly to the land
Where pigs can fly
And birds are free
You’ll realize
And you will see
How happy you could be!

So put a smile
Up on your face!
And bring your ticket
Just in case
You’ll need it checked
Here on the border
Oh no!
Here comes law and order.

But don’t you worry
You got me!
I’ll get you out of this misery
So strap right up
And buckle down

Ain’t no better smuggler than me in town!

Choices for a Friend
Sanek Jul 2020
Through the days and days that pass us by
We make little choices throughout our lives
Perhaps sometimes they might seem wrong
But some may they lead to surprises all along

Some think of the road not taken
Or how in their search they’ve left doors unopened
Yet this is the path that we have set foot in
And this is where were headed till the end

But these choices that we make
Do we make them to control, or merely for their own sake?
I say that though time marches on
And mother earth and father sky sing their song

That they do matter
That the words we say are not idle chatter
That they can build a person up
That they can be worth more than enough

To change those around oneself
And be a light in the world, to help

I want to be that light
I don’t want to be snuffed out into the night
And I’m making this choice tonight
Because I want to make it right
And through these words I choose to write

Are all for you my dear friend
Who I want to brighten up till the very end
For a friend...

Happiness is only impossible if you define it as impossible
