The botanics and vitamins of a smoothie
Condense from the pulp, the fluff and seeds
A site, a gulp, such a painting of my swallow
Yet your words are flavoured and nutritious
A flash of sageness, a tick and trick of mind
Years used, time passed and moments amassed
The label stuck, the price tug plug and tagged
Avatars resurrected from undesired mines mime
Dusted and polished then placed on an antiquated shelf
Bloomed and groomed from a desiccated gloom
A wonder as a dear friend drag me from the grave

The Poetry Vehicle
Be there nothing in that sky of yours,
That of your own making,
No colour, matter, wind nor force.
Just emptiness beyond that battered cliff,
Beaten by the sea from one,
With kites and creams to the other.
Such contrasting torment of ‘could but isn’t’,
As the black, crimson sky bleeds over;
Yet is still a waste expanse,
For black or crimson, kites or birds,
Wind or wonder, nothing’s heard.
Where loneliness haunts itself,
Imbued with its own solitary ambience,
Which companioning heart beats would dilute.
Opacity equates to naught.

I.
Ngozi yangu ni nyekundu
Choka wanaochukua kama mfuo
Bila ushunda na heshima
Waichezea kama kikapu cha samaki

I.
My exotic melenated skin is dark
Pasted with chalks that crease in mist
The world that sails with no justice and politeness
A sifted clan put in a basket like the unwanted fish

II.
Wainukia hii fedha, kwani sina mkopo
Hizi ndamu nyekundu zalia pilipili
Kwa uchungu umeomwangwa duniani
Haya si maneno ya sifa wala ya hatari

II.
Don’t smell at this treasure, for I have no debt
The bloods that pour in crimson and burn in hot pepper
The pain streamed from faces, a tainted worldly existence
Let these words not be seen as a praise and neither a threat

III.
Binadamu ulimwenguni wakifu
Kama mfalme mwenye hana taji
Umoja madada, pamoja makaka
Mkono tushikane kwa usawa, mdogo mdogo

III.
Humanity is a concept weft from the universal strains in cobalt abstracts
Lost in illusion like a king who is prided by invisible crowns
Together sisters, brothers, daughters and sons
Hold hands, spread the love in a united mesh, little by little
Translations can lose meaning.... my first ever Swahili poem

Helicopter in the air
Searching for those on the run
Holding the greenness of shattered glass
A tight embrace of the natural beauty

A rock tied to mine locks
Padlocked as I creep the stairway of life
Evolution of flames and fallacies
A sly that promises no tears

Compelled to paste the puzzle together
A locomotion of pieces to a system
Never to be afraid of who we are
United uniqueness to be the ones of a kind

Are we the loyal dogs who bark by the rivers?
Waiting for the tides to wash us away
Singing as the sun reflects beautiful ways
The tales of a long ago uncovers my soul

The Poetry Vehicle
An ardent soliloquy of effusive loneliness;
But a fervent display of fanciful companionship.
Fanciful, but of choice limited to one.
As soft lonesome light glows through a goblet;
Deep in red of fallacious blood,
And to speak of which I long, with one of similar mind,
Yet contradictory in gender,
Be it in terms as well.

Solitariness to me, seems bestowed.
And at times I see its light.
Or not so much light, more of a dim and distant glow,
Coming to me through that goblet,
Through the liquid lie it holds.

Imbued with the notion of these times,
I long to be, even an appendix to a Pantisocracy,
Where subjugation and self righteousness are equally redundant,
Not surplus; not wanted.
Perpetual anticipation for this future,
Is the ultimate test of faith in righteousness.
