Time and us grew up together
I've always known about your existence
But our timelines danced the dance of fate, or destiny, you call it
When you came into my timeline
I saw stars and galaxies
Which are only seen in the dark night

I wonder too, that when I appeared in yours,
did you see bright sunsets and clouds?

Sometimes words come easily to me
And sometimes not
Sometimes I forget to take the time
And others, not

Poetry, as an expression of life
Makes pictures out of words
And takes our minds soaring
To new heights
Of understanding
So today
I put pen to paper
And fingers to keyboards
And
I will write
In a drop of you, I lost an ocean of me.

Josh
You were born near the warm ocean,
grew up around there,
With your clear acrylic smile
and sun-kissed blonde hair

I, the winter cold
More north than I can remember,
We met that day you visited,
a brisk chill, that December

We drank and danced,
while the years passed over
Argued and grew apart,
our greatest fears, now sober

My memories of you, once treasured
Now, faded
as sun deprived lands complain,
Forever, jaded
The road to hell is far shorter than that of Heaven
you see, heaven is a place where the evil ones dwelled
If you are on the road to hell,
just remember that there are cracks where Satan fell
In my dream

They stole

My soul

When I awoke

I was broken

And alone

I have starved.
not in the general sense
My belly has always been full
but I have felt emptiness in my heart.

we call it loss
the kind we cannot recover

And so I know,
often there is no satiety.
We are bound to starve.
my one wish is
to find someone
who sees the world
as beautiful as i do
with their mouth
preaching poetic beauty
as i have once done
to all the boys
i have loved
