They see that you are smiling,
And they think you’re doing great,
They don’t see that you are drowning,
Pulled down by an invisible weight,

Because depression it is heavy,
Feels like your load alone to bare,
Because you’re terrified of sharing it,
And you doubt anyone will care,

And then they catch you laughing,
Guess that means you’re doing fine,
“I’m feeling much better now”
How many times have you used that line?

And they don’t see the pain,
You are harbouring inside,
And most of them will never know,
Because a laugh makes it easy to hide,

You always try to handle it solo,
And that’s such a dire shame,
Because although you’re just one player,
Life’s a multiplayer game,

So you need to stop the smiling,
If it’s a smile that isn’t true,
Time to lower down your guard,
And let the world see the real you,

And you may lose some people,
They may bolt because they get scared,
But some will stick around,
To ensure you get repaired,

Because some out there have noticed,
That you really aren’t happy,
So what you need to ask yourself is,
Are you the you, you want to be?

So yeah depression it is heavy,
And recovery is a bumpy road,
But there are people out there waiting,
To help you lighten the load....

When you’re entering into a relationship,
Whether it’s with a best friend or a lover,
The one thing that is imperative,
Is that you have to trust each other,

Trust is very hard to gain,
But it’s equally as difficult to lose,
Everyone could tell you to give up on them,
Trust will always make you refuse,

But even though it’s incredibly strong,
It still has elements of fragility,
Trust betrayed hurts that much more,
And there’s no form of recovery,

Because once it’s gone it’s gone forever,
No power on earth can bring it back,
And though the relationship may survive,
What was once flawless, now has a giant crack,

Because before you trusted every word they said,
Now you start thinking you may have been blind,
Because once they’ve taken your trust for granted,
There’s no way to get the doubts out of your mind,

So before you betray that person,
By taking advantage of their trust,
Remember for both of you to be happy,
Then trust it is a must,

And when you both share your trust,
It’s a sign of true solidity,
And the few out there that have mine,
You mean the world to me,

And I trust that you won’t break it,
And know if you place your trust in me,
I’ll cherish your trust with all my heart,
I’ll do anything in my power to be worthy,

Because there’s nothing more reassuring,
Than the understanding of a mutual trust,
But then there’s nothing quite as devastating,
As watching as it crumbles into dust..............

They say anxiety can't **** you,
And though I know it's true,
It doesn't make it hurt any less,
Watching the you get stripped from you,

You want to say how you're feeling,
But the words just won't come out,
Even when you know you're right,
You're filled with constant doubt,

You feel like a singer with no voice,
Lost your purpose, lost your soul,
Like a shattered glass in a million pieces,
Afraid you'll never again feel whole,

All you want is the pain to stop,
Because you're so tired of feeling alone,
So you allow yourself to slowly sink,
Because you can't swim on your own,

You feel like no one will understand,
Even if you told them all your pain,
So instead you smile and say "I'm alright",
Because it's too hard to explain,

But you need to learn to trust the world,
Need to let the outside in,
Because a problem shared is a problem halved,
It's time to release the you buried deep within,

No one is going to run away,
So let your negativity cease,
Though you feel like a puzzle incomplete,
Let others be your missing piece,

I don't know where I'd be in life,
Without my friends and family,
So if you ever want your smile back,
It's time to let yourself be free,

So anxiety cannot **** you,
And now I see its true,
And even if I have it my whole life,
I know you guys will pull me through.....
