Sit with me awhile;
Talk to me.
Tell me everything you would have done
If I was still alive

Sit with me awhile;
Cry with me.
There’s no shame in expressing your emotions
If you’re feeling sad.

Sit with me awhile;
Listen to me.
For even though I’m lying here, silent, remember
What I would have said.

Sit with me awhile;
Just sit with me.
Sometimes you need no words, or tears, or anything
Except my company.
Cemeteries can be sad and lonely places, where sometimes you don't know what to say or do.

I LIKE TO SAY YOUR NAME

I like to say
your name

when you're
not here

turn you
into sound

conjure you out of
thin air

so that you appear
before me

dressed in sound
only

memory sketching in
the rest of you

as if sound
was just an outline

and love
colours you in

adding the voice last
so I can hear you say.

"Hello you..!"
and there you are

as present
as present

can be.

I like to say
your name

when you're
not there.

Sugar and spice
Two painstaking years later
The scars turned into art .

Those tarnished memories
Were once treasured.
And now they just float carelessly.
Away into nothingness.

The pain they carved.
And the weight they carry.
Now it seems, it was just dead weight.
But they're wisked away , this time---
No gut wrenching sorrow.
I traded my scars for art  .

If a man needs you to believe a lie,
He will often say, "trust me."

If a man needs you to believe the truth,
He will speak it.

Were I a stronger boy, I would've fought for less.
Were I a wiser fool, I would've played more chess.
Were I a richer man, I would not have such debt.
Were my life a boring one, I would not have regret.
