Failure
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Be so strong
Even the failure
Could never cross
your door,
And if you ever
Met it somehow
It would say
“You are not the one I’m looking for”

Why so sad
Madison Wright Apr 2019
I guess I’ll never understand
Why you cry yourself to sleep

Why you look in the mirror
      To see one missing piece

What must I do to help you
      Sleep sound
            When I’m not around...

You are complex, hard to read

But,

You are

perfect

to me.

Dear,
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Dear __,
It's been a while since I smiled, and laughed with you. Where did you go? You promised your love, and that you would always be near. Love hurts. Doesn't it? But I know you've heard that said by everyone else so it probably doesn't mean anything to you...
I miss you. A lot. I can barely even bring myself to get out of bed, take my meds, without taking them all at least.
I don't think you understand.
You think this is a game?
I'm just a puppet who won't complain.
It really is a shame.
I loved you and knew your name!
But according to you... I'm the one to blame.

Baby love hurts doesn't it... We can hurt together.
If you feel that would be better...

Love,
                me.
To my ex.

Ya Know?
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Sometimes I wish I could go back in time.
That wasn't how I wanted it to end.
You could've told me
Ya know

about how you felt that day
you didn't have to leave that
as the last time
I saw you.

I would've told you how I felt
how your worth is that of an angel.
but
you really are an angel now
silently flying
your beautiful music dying.

I wish you would've told me.

Ya know?

I promise I care.

Through a black window
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Through a black window
you struggle to see
the monster
gripping
and tearing
into me

help me
I'm hurting
I want to be free
the chains that i have
are attached to a broken piece
of me

stranded.

Through the black window
your mother lays rest
tending to flowers
and mending your dress.

she fails to see you crying there,
defending yourself
silently struggling
clearly shaking
screaming
pleading
needing

her.

He painted the window black
what a despicable deed.

Tall
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Does a tall person
have further to fall?
If the height
is different then everyone else.
Does that
make the fall
hurt any less?

Does the person with everything
not feel a thing
when burdened with anger and despair?
Does the loss of a father
sister
brother
not exist when money is there?

Sorry
Madison Wright Apr 2019
I should apologize
The waves in your eyes
Caught me by surprise
I didn’t think you where like other guys
But I am your prize
I guess now’s the time to say goodbyes
The life left behind was the ultimate price.

Sorry

Tired
Madison Wright Apr 2019
I'm exhausted.

I think I'm done.

Are you proud?

You made me give up.

That's cool.

But,

just one thing

you know, before you leave.

I'm trying

REALLY trying.

To see why.

Why have you shattered

the temporary innocence

I had.

That was it

all I will ever get.

But you took it.

And

burned

it

down

Thank you though.

Without you I wouldn't be strong.

I WOULDN'T HAVE LEARNED

Learned...

what it's like to be

truly

really

absolutely

happy.

happy.

happy.

Such a word

doesn't belong in your possession

mom

me

my brothers

sisters

friends

are all suffering

because of you.

Dad I'm tired.

Let me sleep.

Go back to your jail cell.

Stay out of my dreams.
poured my heart out on that. sorry...

Sunlight
Madison Wright Apr 2019
I met a boy once
who cried and told me
he was not enough
and it baffled me
that he could not see
the sunlight pouring through his eyes

The way they glistened and shined
the diamond tear falling down his face
he falls on his knees
because to him
he was nothing but empty space.

He was wrong
and I wish he could see,
he is the sunlight in life
the stars in the sky
the reason I haven't died.

Don't take the sunlight.

A Broken Lie.
Madison Wright Apr 2019
Your smile is a broke lie,
watching you break,
seeing your dreams die.

The mirror tells you how to scream,
a muffled wail,
masks how things seem.

Why can't you see the wings,
bolted to your back,
you only see the demons
and the heart that's turning black.

My love,
Oh my heart, soul, and desire.
I will hold your melted wings
protect you from the fire.

If Icarus flew,
with an umbrella over his head,
would his wings have melted?
Would he struggle, dead?

I will break my wings,
walk with you,
be with you,
talk with you.

I will shatter the mirror.
for it tells you wrong.
you are a miracle,
worthy,
strong.

I plead with you now,
open your eyes,
see that your beauty,
never dies.

My arms will be open
fall into me,
see the wonderful things
that I see.

If for one minute,
I could give you my eyes,
you'd look in the mirror,
not suffer, but smile.

But,
Your smile is a broke lie,
watching you break,
and painfully,
seeing your dreams die.
For my boyfriend...
