You planted a garden in her heart
But then you left...
You left the garden unkempt
Vines and thorns left growing

Thorns ***** her skin,
vines entangle her mind,
wrapping around her neck,
she gasps for air

But there was no one,
no one there to save her.
She was alone,
suffering, slowly withering

You don't understand it.
The heavy breathing
The hollow gap in my heart
Even I don't understand it...

Doubt settles in my brain
Insecurity embedded in my mind.
This is an endless cycle,
My downwards spiral...

I want this to stop
I want the suffering to end
I want to cease the pain
I just want to feel whole again...

Panic sinks its teeth
into my laboured lungs,
my shortened breaths
signalling their imminent collapse.

Breathe in, breathe out
I've been through this before.
It's going to be alright,
it's just a panic attack.

Walking down the crowded street
among the lucky extroverted souls,
who can blind themselves
with the cacophony created by a cold city's chaos.

Keep my eyes trained on the ground,
but keep a vigilant eye on the sidewalk behind,
To be sure fear, won't ever catch up to me.

You told me you loved me
You said I was your forever
You promised me that you won't ever leave...

But in the end, all those were empty promises
Everything you said was a lie
I cry every night wondering
When did our love die...

What happened to our love?
What happened to our forever?
What happened to our promises?
What happened to us...

Each dreary day pass as I fake a smile
Underneath my mask are tear threatening to fall
This broken heart that no one sees
Is now far beyond anyone's reach

All those nights spent locked in my room
As silent tears stream stream down my cheeks
Every whimper barely above a whisper
And my mind keeps turning and turning

Searching for a reason
To why you have left me
In this desolate state
In this empty world, scarred and hurt

I remember all the good memories we made
All the bright smiles we shared
Is this all in the past now? Or do we still have a chance?
