Why do I crave
Your attention
This late at night
All I need
Is your breath
In mine
To stay alive

We talk through poetry,
'Cause we're not strong enough to end this.

touched my shoulder
turned
to see
it was just a mirror...

Have you really touched me
With the shores of your ocean heart?
Was it real when my murdered love
Rose again in your intoxicated arms?
Your answer still haunts me
When you said,
you just want to be free.

I’m a poem today,
Rhyming with this dispirited life.
