The only thing worse
Than pulling the trigger
Is spending your entire Life
With a barrel on your mouth
Just waiting for that 'bang'
P.s. This is not a poem about suicide. It's about expectations. About living with a heavy burden and never being able to set free of it.
Guardian Angel, let me rest here on this sandy shore as I gaze at the sea
Allow my weary head to rest upon your shoulder as I grow older,
wrap your wings around my heart, Angel of light !
Let me linger in the air while I sift through this hourglass of time
for without your living presence Angel, I ain't worth a dime.
Let the stars and the moon clothe my soul with living Grace
then when my time is up, come and show me that Holy place,
where all good daughters and sons go, when their days are done.
Let me shine upon this earth like a radiant sun,
and beam my radiant gleam on those who need it most.
Guardian Angel, help me to slow down and smell the flowers
counting all the blessings of this beautiful lifetime.
Everyone dies but not everyone lives, so help me reach my full potential
allowing my beating heart to rest on your protective wings of love.
Before I leave this earth, let me make a difference
and leave behind these aerial, human wings.
Judging opinions
by their age
proscriptions
lie in wait

Consensus stained
with fear and guilt
folly
overstates

Knowledge of others
unknown to self
deception points
one way

Value weighed
in layers of dust
the truth held
—far at bay

We ask wild feats of writers
Unselfish word-bleeders
For work that is numinous
Words for joy, laughs, and weeping
Us hungry feel-feeders
Eat verses voluminous

We absorb works in moments
They divest force in phrase
Emotion frames numerous
Words for light, love, and darkness
Channels hours and days
Air-weightless and luminous

We call comedy writers
Carefully humorous
Use joking for distance
Words for howls, roars, and giggles
Sweet-flavours existence
From bitters that ruin us

We challenge dear writers
To capture the cumulous
Joyful, enlightening
Words for life, growth, and knowledge
Anxious, heart-tightening
Funny or humourless
Instructions in humanness

have a photo here of up the valley
where they used to stook the harvest

all the family out working the fields

in the evening it came cooler
for rest
Where land meets sea
She'll wait for me.

At times
sometimes
I dream
full to the brim
and swim in your eyes,

at times
sometimes
when
my mind's a blank screen
She,
comes to me in another dream.
