Spring Flurries

I woke to a soft morning light
filtered through my pink curtains
and the neighbor’s heater vibrating in my ear
And through my window
saw snowflakes carefree dancing
in a radiant and romantic rapeseed field
Warmed by the scent of brewing coffee
and lovely thoughts of you
This magical sea of yellow
adorned by tiny lacy flurries
Let me forget the freezings that I’ve felt
and the dimness that I’ve seen
I found a flock of cranes
clustered in a gravel lot;
they were silent, still,
their grays and reds paint
matte the landscape
behind the jaundice
yellow of the workers
lounging out their lunch;

one fellow, never caught
his name, waved me over
like I’d seen mafia dons
do on TV;
       Where you boys headed?
His voice, rumbles of the diesel
engine of his machinery starting
on icy mornings;
       Hell, it doesn’t matter.
              You’ll be busy all the same.
Lunch on me today, son.

two bills he pushed into my hands,
crumpled and pocket damp,
and slapped my *** in dismissal;
the laughter of the men
shuddered off the steel shells
of those mechanical birds

I am
An evergreen flower
Of love in
The garden of your heart
That blossoms
In the eternity

I hate to think of humans as
monsters, killers, murderers, cannibals
But for generations,
we've been taking one another's lives
all in the name of power, greed & jealousy
Rest in peace to legends like 2pac, Nipsey
And to all those whose lives were taken by
fellow human beings
We've got to do better as people
We need to do away with evil
We need to fill our hearts with love
And I know that true love only comes from God.

Yea, I'm saying that we need God.

The Sun

I work for the moment where my mind as as clear as the rising sun.
I keep reminding myself that the sun burns to shine that bright, so it's okay to feel this in the process. The sun also knows when to rise and when to set, it's never wrong.. and my religion is telling me that if the sun doesn't rise like it always does, it is the end of the world and the beginning of the after life. Can I be as strong as the sun?
Yes, I can.
I am the Sun.
