P.
I drank her in
With a cliche thirst
Desperate
I traced her ribs
Fresh ink
Our ancient tongue
And a pair of winter eyes
Answering
All my loneliness
.
The morning is hers
I dip inside
Muffled yelps and
Sleep-soaked pillows
Borrowed time
Granted by
All her curiosity
.
In progress

He.
All those rusty summer rains

Could never erase the

Senseless violence

Of his mind

And I tore through the country

Dry but

Pretending

As if

California never ruined me

As if

He was nothing but a

Parenthesis

Lurking in the corners

Of all my broken sentences

Felicity
Enoa Oct 2018
She’s island light
Seeping white
Under my eyelids
She’s all
Aegean tides
Rolling deep
Between my thighs
She’s salty breeze
Breathing sweet
Along my spine
Only in the cruel winter nights
She is
Plain
Pure
Felicity.

We let our summer dreams
Soar drunk
All mist and moan and
Black honey skin
The bare mess of those lusts
A delirious goddess
Beneath the sun
Her gown the languid sea

The underbelly of the beast
Exposed
Is just more context
Tucked away
In looser corners of a mind
Void of lilac sunsets and
Airport poetry
And your belly
Hollowed out through the hips
By all those generic lovers
Doesn’t need more fundamentals
Only acid dreams of desert symmetry

Buzz, beep
Demanding glare of a flickering screen
Hands rifle through pockets and purses
Find validation in rigid thumbs
Hands forgot to join in prayer last night
But glide over a keyboard
I woke feeling zero
Turned to her blinking monitor eyes
I heard her smile
Nothing more than Morse code for
Error four-oh-four
I woke feeling one
Huxleyan white noise
Of pixels impregnated with the passions of the ignorant
Feel me
But do not touch me
For I am no different than those fools
Making love to the Device
Half-hearted
And I can’t help but wonder
Why I’m even attempting Poetry
In a world that cannot read its own digital tongue
