All the silence does not mean
You are alone,
It is the world waiting for you
To listen;
And in the darkness you are
Found by the light
Of your hope.

And in the tears of your
Pain you are born,
There you become stronger
And it creates order.

Pick up your flesh as your spirit
Lifts,
And speak your happiness
As if the tip of your tongue
Was the mountain's peak
Speaking at the sky,
The burden is a caged bird
And only the conscious can set
It free.
And sing to yourself so that
You know you are never alone
In your body.

Know that your crazy is beautiful
Because it makes you YOU,
Wear your skin like
Your cozy blanket and cuddle
In the warmth of yourself.
     You are not broken,
But scattered like the night
With pieces like stars shining,
    Open your pain and yourself
To the wound of the world and heal
Whatever you choose.

there must be a place
where sinners go

i take my sins
to her
instead of
the church
what use is
a priest
if she's the one
i worship

after every prayer
i shall go
unpunished
after this amen
i shall be
forgiven

this is the place
where a sinner like me
bends the knees.

We stand on the sidewalk
cousin Jamie and me, with

a bible in my right hand,
I drape my left arm

around her lopsided
shoulders and cold brace;

she seldom smiles,
even as the shutter clicks.
Standing at the front of the cafe on a rainy day,
Waiting for a hot cup of coffee,
On this autumn day,

Seeing you alone,
Watching the dust of people, flowing outside,
Why is such beauty alone?

I try to hide my smile,
I try to hide my feelings.

Holding my coffee,
I work hard looking away from you;

But, I remember your face,
From a dream long ago,
I can see you in my dreams from a thousand years ago.

The most beautiful site I can remember,
Doesn't come close to your beauty,
Not even a sunrise on a bright blue day.

I hope by letting go of past love,
I'd be able to say hello to you.

How much time have I missed, by mourning a lost love?
What is stopping me from saying hello to you?

i am in constant fear of forgetting.
forgetting how i feel,
what i'm thinking,
the directions to your house,
the quadratic formula,
all of it

so i leave myself notes along my way.
inked on my skin,
attached to sticky notes,
sticky-tacked on my wall,
in the paper's margin,
everywhere

but with you,
you're convenient.
tap two buttons at the same time
and our words are embalmed for another day.
just as easy as that.

every once in awhile
i like to refresh myself
by scrolling past each screenshot of us
i began to notice a pattern,
somewhere outside the messaging format

between each picture
were tons more, unrelated.
between us, whatever we are
life has moved on
we've been caught in our little world
while the rest has moved around us
but we have too

i know now
that no matter what happens
i will be okay
because time will move on
and i'll keep taking pictures
of things that aren't us
just like i have been
from the start

November comes
with the wild geese
in their V like memories
of an arrow flying
too close to the sun
and their feathers shining
as their wings beat as one
drum in the distance
signaling that winter
is coming, and the cold
days will keep us inside
warmed by the fires we crave
deep in our caves painting
and dreaming away.
