A new generation
or a carry-forward
of the past
what are we?

Have we just
put on new clothes
to be different
but grasped

by what went before?
is civilisation a mere mask?
If we're mere copies
how would our virtues last?

It will only be
a new generation
if the past were cast
to oblivion- in this alone we'll trust
Living
if  you call it living

vicariously
through  you

a passenger on  every
trip

where
you always drove
Sit and watch over
The silenced, still moonlit lake
waiting to be saved
Juice of an orange
Spilled over the dark rain clouds
Last coral sunset
Bound,
not for an eternity
Transient, this existence

Untethered,
bond with freedom
Know the boundaries
We talk about the
past like it's a
movie we
watched together.
You liked the
cinematography.
I didn't care for the
cruelty of the
protagonist.

We disagree on the
theme, and every
scene holds different
aspects of
symbolism for us.
I'm not sure I want
there to be a sequel,
despite the good
acting.
