Fearless
What was that did you say?
Speak up, I can't hear you today
Do you remember the time?
Oh, you've heard that rhyme
Forgetting is a non-negotiable
when you're old and sociable
You see that impatient stare
But you're not aware
that story you're telling
is no longer compelling
no time for the old anymore
but death will not skip your door
be kind to the weak and the elderly too
for someday all of those things will be you
Yesterday would have been my grandma's 90th birthday. I wish I had been kinder and more patient with her when she was still here.

Hyperactive all my senses
I can't shut my hunger off
I want to love all the women
I grow weary of battles lost

In sweet sunshine
I come alive
I run 'til out of breath
My heart beats wild
Mile after mile
Until there's nothing left

Laying down
I dream forever
Of a heart that beats
Like mine
Beneath dark skies
Here I lie
In the calamity
Of my rhymes

Nature in a picture frame
I yearn to climb within.
Staring lost in thought with
hands upon my chin.

Peering at the Heron who
holds his pose with ease.
I hear the birds a chirping
high amongst the trees.

Should you try and find me
look beyond the cove.
You’ll find me full of laughter
dancing in the grove.

Jumping with the rabbit
prancing with the deer.
The only thing that brings me
back are those I hold so dear...
