I wish for you to be okay
But I know I can’t make you okay.
Nothing can make it okay…
Only time.
My grandma told me those words on a call today, a few days after my dad had passed. Just wanted to jot it down so I won't forget it.
I am the next wind
which crosses your neck.
The raindrop on your cheek.
When you wake up
tomorrow I will be the
crease on your face, the
tangle of your blanket.

Know this then, I will
never leave you.  The
scent of me lines your
breath.

So now I lay me down
to sleep. I pray my soul is
yours to keep

Alt ending

So now I lay me down
to sleep.  I know your soul
is mine to keep.

Amen

Ruffled hair, love, ruffled hair
I tear open the ground above
you push out the wooden door
this room is but ever unchanged
your skin— a stollen shore

Breathe in, love, breathe out
waves upon come tip toeing—
scared then off by a nasty storm
dust feasts all over our flesh
I give in on you, our desolate norm

Sleep on, love, sleep on
I grab what here is left of you
one swift jump; away I flow
this starry night is— if unlit
your shy life: an empty, ebbing show

stay serene, love, stay serene
unmoving cloud, you dance like dusk
mirroring, above— I lovingly sway
I see a light beneath your shine
you this withered water shan’t take away

your skin— a stollen shore
this room is but ever changed
you pull in the wooden door
we lie along with ground above
ruffled bones, love, ruffled bones

she always smelled like oranges
now i stay away from citrus
distance is
tough
but you see trust
is miles away
I watched the moon,
last night,
it danced through,
the tree limbs,
onto my,
bare skin.
I pondered,
if maybe,
you too held,
ballets,
across your chest.
If the world must fall asleep
Let it be a short while
Otherwise all nature will wonder
If it be pride....
Or a very long nap.....
