(You can always walk away – and I did)
"Peavey" is the brand name of a range of loudspeakers. You can often find them booming orders at you from the ceilings of churches.
She moved away from me
And that was alright
Hey pretty woman
I hope I didn't give you a fright
its  been a long time since my eyes
laid upon such a sight.

She began to yell
And  that was alright
Ha! pretty woman
like a hound you howl!
WOOOOO a WOOOO
Now shush woman, don't be foul

She ran away
And that was alright
Huh, pretty woman
you weren't the only one
who thought could get away
before I had my fun today.

"Daddy,"* says my 4-year-old
"There's a monster under my bed"
I laugh and I hum
an extended wooooo sound
and to amuse her, I look under her bed
"Daddy," says my 4-year-old under her bed
*"There's a monster on my bed"
poem based on a short tale of horror I found online; this is the second in my series of horror poems...

whistling whistling whistling
wooOooooOooowooo owooOo wooOOO ooo
singing me to sleep

soft breaths like a cat
hh-shhh, hh-shhh, hh-shhh
or ravenous screams, telling me
let me in let me in let me in

soft melody, broken throats
crushed voices just in time, any rasping?
check on them for me, will you

they're begging, ma'am
please just tell us the answer

Give me road trips filled with 90's music,
take me fishing or I just might lose it,
Texas lakes, or the gulf coast,
with too much work I'm diagnosed.

I need 'Merica's, and **** rights,
and I need you to get it together tonight,
we know whats going on in the world today,
the news is all bad, so lets go play.

Drop the boat in the water and hollering WOOOOO!
full throttled boat, out on the bay with my crew,
all my buddies gathered from far and wide
we're going fishing, no matter the tide.

The water is flat and the sun is shining magnifico,
we're from Arizona, Texas, Florida and New Mexico
get together once or twice a year,
telling stories and drinking beer.

Cutting bait and casting lines,
generally having one hell of a time,
doesn't matter if its reds or speckled trout,
just put us on the coast and let us out.

Today I'm a ghost
I am wearing a white bed sheet
With two cut out eyes
I looked in mirror
And went woooo
And the mirror
Woooo back at me!
It took me by surprise
And I felt a little confused
So I wooooo again
again and again
And the mirror woooo back at me!
So instead I giggled
I laugh so much I blew
the bed sheet off me
And then I saw me
And I went hi
And the mirror said hi back
I rolled my eyes
And I got a pen
And drawed a big balloon
Filled with tiny stars
Then I put the bed sheet on
And went wooooo again
And the balloon popped
And all the stars
Sprinkled down like glitter
And I smiled
And smiled
And smiled
:) just writing whatever flows out of me x

We’re sitting on a hill. We’re listening to someone over the age of 40 introduce a band he says is lyrically good. I half-heartedly cheer when they take the stage. He looks at me, eyes twinkling and says,

“No, no, no. Like you mean it.”

“But....fine. Wooooo!”

“Come on. Like you mean it!” he chides, grinning. I relent and attempt to cheer ‘like I mean it.'

I let out an enthusiastic, “WOOOOOO hahahaha !”

I’m laughing as I cheer, finding that meaning it is fun. It’s invigorating. Being here with him, meaning it is perfectly fine. It’s been so long since I’ve had fun; so long since I’ve felt alive.

Feeling alive is meaning it. It’s just going, doing, feeling. It’s giving someone a door through those walls I’ve so carefully crafted. It’s the horrible hangover you get when you realize you’ve had too much ‘meaning it.' It’s living in the moment. Isn’t life just a compilation of moments anyway? Always mean it.

You are eleven now
almost twelve
almost a teenager
that incredibly bewildering part
  of your life
where you’re not quite a kid anymore
yet you’re not an adult yet either

the world is going
to start asking more from you
maybe too much at times
maybe not enough at others
maybe a little too soon
maybe not soon enough

some kids your age feel like
they are dying to leave
their childhoods behind them
to cut the umbilical cord
to their adolescence

that urge to rush into the adult world
they feel restless in their youth
they feel power growing in their voice
but they feel unheard when they use it

and it seems unfair
this mixed signal
of start acting like an adult
but not being trusted
to be responsible as an adult

this time frame of
act your age
but don’t act your age anymore
be more mature
but “WOOOOO”
not too mature

and yea its not fair
not really
and that’s where life is headed now
your life is slowly treading
into the waters of unfair
you’ll be swimming
and sinking
and drowning
not being able to distinguish
between what is fair
and what isn’t fair

life will always be hitting
and crashing into you
in waves of what fells like
bad luck
day after day
while only seeming to drizzle
good luck outside
on days you are trapped inside

I hope you will learn this though
that you will see it sooner than most
that luck is just luck
good and bad are just different
perspectives to the same story

that life isn’t fair or unfair
it’s just life
it’s a journey
good things will happen
tragedies will occur

love

will be the most beautiful thing
you get to hold
and also be the most painful thing
you will have to endure

cherish the beauty
and breathe through the pain
it won’t always feel like
it’s going to be worth it

but it is

always just breathe through it

inhale

exhale

one more day

listen to your heart
hear the sound it makes
that is your music
the baseline to the soundtrack of your life
and its always playing a new song
hold onto it
never let it get old

there is no stopping time
you will become an adult
both in body and mind
as you age into it
grow into it
as you figure out whatever it is
that you will one day
define as being an adult

it’s your life
and your life alone
don’t let anyone else
give you a definition that doesn’t fit

and if you ever have trouble
finding the words
if you have days where
you cant quite remember who you are
or how to define yourself

thats ok

it happens
we get lost
we wander
its part of the journey
its part of life

just remember

inhale

exhale

and listen to your heart
listen to your song
thats you

and no matter who you become
with each new day
each new song
no matter how many changes
of costumes
of character
whatever role you end up playing

I will be watching
I will be cheering
I will be loving you
