What if
          I
                                                  Fall
In
              Love
With
      A
       Poet?
What if he mesmerises me
       With his lines?
What if
        His words touch me
        And kiss
           Through my skin?
     What if i search for
Him
Everyday
And
      Travel through
              His words
    And meet him
                  Somewhere
       And
We
       Become bare
          And he caresses
Me
          With every
      Stanza
And
       Here
           I am
                Again
Searching
           For him,
    Wanting
Him
        With
                 All
                      Desire
Waiting
             For
                 His
                   Next
                      Poem
                         To
                            Take
                              Me
                          To
                       His
                   World
                Where
             We
          Will
        Lay
      Bare
   What if
               I
                  Fall in love
                      With
                  A
                      Poet?

See her when she is walking
Even when she feels like sulking

Listen when she is talking
Even when she feels like crying

Behold her when she is trying
Even when she  gives up thriving

Through the heart, her laughter courses
And soothes like angelic choruses

Her weeping and souring
Bring down the rain pouring

Ain't no sunshine zone
When she's gone

When she's around
Everything becomes sound

She's beautiful in every form
See her elegant in any storm

Adorable in pregnancy and childbirth
Remarkable in storms and in mirth

She is more than her thighs
And even more than her sighs

She is more than her hips
She is more than her lips

She is woman, she is goddess
Happy Women's Month South Africa
There's always,
Always light
at the end of the tunnel
There's always a way
Out of the jungle
Peace and rest lie ahead
After every struggle

After the heavy storm
comes the calm
April showers
bring forth
May flowers

After the darkest night
The sun always shines
In the morning
Bringing out of mourning
Exchanging frowns
With smiles for adorning
Those afflicted and in pain
In need of fresh annointing
Drying all tears,
Driving away the dark
Leaving all clear

Rain and pain
Never last always
They are just but a season
And a phase

Hold on, be strong
Never lose hope
It won't be long
Keep the faith
At all times

April showers
Bring forth
May flowers.
Inspired by a late night phone-pillowtalk.
I still remember the day we first met.
It was so magical, I will never forget.
I was invited to see and try something new.
But never would I have imagined I would meet you.

One by one, we got to hold you and learn.
I remember I couldn’t wait for it to be my turn.
And when she finally placed you in my tiny hands.
I didn’t expect you would change my future plans.

I placed my lips on your cold silver mouthpiece.
I took a deep breath and your notes broke the peace.
I looked at her with impressed eyes and lips painted with glee.
She praised the others, but the one she was most impressed with, was me.

11 years we have been together, where did time go?
We already have so many memories, performing at every show.
And the time we played for the queen, do you remember as well?
I will hold you until my hands can no longer move themselves.

I can’t picture a life, a childhood without you by my side.
They said we were partners in crime, just like Bonnie and Clyde.
And whenever I was falling, you were my never failing parachute.
I love you to pieces, my old trusty flute.
Just a little piece for my little flute.

First comes winter. The hardest to survive.
Cold and barren; the frost eats you alive.
Branches of hope bare; leaves of love decayed,
Around your heart and soul, you’ve built a barricade.

Next is the spring; winter gone at last.
The time for new life, no longer bound to your past.
Resilience gave you another chance;
You refuse to look back now, not even a glance.

Now the summer, best season of all.
You think you've moved on, standing proud and tall.
Growing and blossoming towards the sky,
Barely remembering the last goodbye.

Darker nights now autumn is here,
Doubts create fog this time of year.
Leaves of joy and fulfilment are furling and falling,
Memories of lost love you just keep recalling.

Then winter strikes again, but not quite as strong,
You wonder why you still haven’t moved on.
Reliving every mistake and regret,
The frost bites your skin. It won’t let you forget.

The seasons repeat until you become winterless,
Your bark has healed, you are finally splinterless,
Life now a lattice of long summer, carefree spring,
But occasionally the autumn may sometimes creep in.
Or so that is what I hear,
But I still have winter as part of my year.
