The Land of Nod (Hebrew: ארץ נוד‬, eretz-Nod) is a place mentioned in the Book of Genesis of the Hebrew Bible, located "on the east of Eden" (qidmat-‘Eden), where Cain was exiled by God after Cain had murdered his brother Abel; According to Genesis 4:16: _And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden._ (וַיֵּ֥צֵא קַ֖יִן מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב בְּאֶֽרֶץ־נֹ֖וד קִדְמַת־עֵֽדֶן‬) "Nod" (נוד) is the Hebrew root of the verb "to wander" (לנדוד). Therefore, to dwell in the land of Nod is usually taken to mean that one takes up a wandering life. Genesis 4:17 relates that after arriving in the Land of Nod, Cain's wife bore him a son, _Enoch_, in whose name he built the first city; "Nod" (נוד‬) is the Hebrew root of the verb "to wander" (לנדוד‬). Therefore, to dwell in the land of Nod can mean to live a wandering life; Gesenius defines (נוּד‬) as follows: _TO BE MOVED, TO BE AGITATED_ (Arab. ناد Med. Waw id.), used of a reed shaken by the wind, 1Ki.14:15; hence to wander, to be a fugitive, Jer. 4:1; Gen. 4:12, 14; Ps.56:9; to flee, Ps. 11:1; Jer. 49:30. Figuratively, Isa. 17:11, נֵד קָצִיר‬ "the harvest has fled" ["but see נֵד‬ ," which some take in this place as the subst.] Much as Cain's name is connected to the verb meaning "to get" in Genesis 4:1, the name "Nod" closely resembles the word "nad" (נָ֖ד‬), usually translated as "vagabond", in Genesis 4:12. (In the Septuagint's rendering of the same verse, God curses Cain                   to τρέμων, "trembling") A Greek version of Nod written as Ναίν appearing in the _Onomastica Vaticana_ possibly derives from the plural נחים‬, which relates to resting and sleeping; This derivation, coincidentally or not, connects with the English pun on "nod"; Josephus wrote in Antiquities of the Jews (c. AD 93) that Cain continued his wickedness in Nod: resorting to violence and robbery; establishing weights and measures; transforming human culture from innocence into craftiness and deceit; establishing property lines; and building a fortified city; Nod is said to be outside of the presence or face of God: Origen defined Nod   as the land of trembling and wrote   that it symbolized the condition of all who forsake God; Early commentators treated it as the opposite of Eden (worse still than the land of exile for the rest of humanity);  In the English tradition Nod was sometimes              described as a desert     inhabited only by ferocious beasts or monsters; Others interpreted      Nod as dark or even underground—away from the face of God— Augustine described unconverted Jews as dwellers in the land of Nod, which he defined as commotion and "carnal disquietude"

1. to give a chance, to an attending unsophisticate await proof of whatever revered worth wanted seeming to have little or no life experience means not there's nothing to give time-trenches furrowed in mire too deep . . . 2. assume nothing so easy of another chickety-choo, just see it through fine particles of gray comet's tail ricochet in the eye friction desired, yet not always there is some pluck, you know . . . 3. you see, as many a soul-straggler roams some may not shine as bright as desirous fit but (amongst other things) actually, they do have something others crave still unconverted, slow-releasing grit . . . 4. no crisis here, only eager groom-in-waiting cheerful chevy, too bright on wooden words zigzagging to capture all-elusive allure banish each espiegled scab clip-clop, tear not off old wounds. 5. So, even as half-regarded not good enough (yet?) nails screech on board, turbulent cadence tips dig deep into sinking blades grant that chance not only to let make, but to make a mark . . . for strangely, I already know. good enough
The maroons scored the first try hooray hooray It was converted oh yeah hooray You see it went upstairs and it was decided the try is theirs So the might of Queensland Are the first scorers But then after 5 minutes or so The mighty blues scored their first and it was fun so fun Will the blues win Well that will only happen if They can keep it up oh yeah The score is 6-6 Then there was some silly moves but it was cool when the blues broke loose then the maroons broke loose Until the blues broke loose to score an unconverted try To make the score 10-6 Making Queensland lick their wounds And just as the blues scored that try they took the ball and ran it down to score another try To make it 16-6 poor buggery Maroons what is happening At present the blues are too good And that was the lead at half time oh yeah and the maroons had a very close chance But the blues are in front Dude it is great Can they keep it up oh yeah Buckaluck After a few of misses and mistakes the mighty Maroons Are hoping to have started a small heart attack by racing in With a converted a try to make the score 16-12 the crowd roar and cheer so loud And let's hope this game doesn't disappoint the crowd The blues make this slip up which could be bad for their chances of the second match The score is still the blues up by 4 But more misses like that Could be their destiny It is touch and go for the blues cause the maroons are looking like overtaking the lead but the blues stopped them As well as an injury to the maroons and this will Make them conquer all The hopeless blues knocks the ball on and the maroons get the ball back yeah What is happening to those hopeless blues The maroons scored a try to tie it up And Thurston is the player to Bring the maroons leading again Yeah mate yeah he got the goal 18-16 to the maroons What will the last 2 minutes hold yeah buddy boy the maroons are too strong and bold As we draw the final curtain The maroons came back to beat the blues 18-16 They were down by about 10 Mate but the pressure from the maroons was too strong Cheer cheer the Queensland team the blues played like **** But as that final Curtain drew Yeah we sink down our vb

I was going to stick a metal rod in the outlet today I was already vivid with the excitement Of taking serious health risks Imagine, just imagine what it would feel like O, what sweet ecstasy the pain would be Shocking, and locking my arm in place No escape from the unconverted Power I was so tempted to put the metal in the outlet I didn't care what would happen If it killed me, so what? If it put me in the hospital, so what? If it gave me super powers, so what? The thrill and excitement built up within me And like a dam about to burst, someone said No Someone said no no no no no... The voice in my head chimed in The timid little good-doer in my brain Said No But my arm reached forward The metal grasped tight between my bare fingers Grown numb from holding on so tightly The outlet was near close close close My smile was the widest it's been in years My heart was racing faster than seeing Emma Stone And then the timid voice came back Stop being an idiot, Jared. Go back to rehearsing the play. I threw the metal rod across the stage And got up And delivered my lines

I almost electrocuted myself today... c'est la vie
I am wholly, drowned in skepticism at the religion I have nursed. Bloodline filtered by faith oceans drowning in fish, they rebel against evolution — never dare question rays of light, what lies beyond seashores, a galaxy spears stab free of testimony. I became a man in suburbs of Dallas — Eve crawled through whispers across earlobes, loosened my buckle on restraint, she planted seeds that led me to the cross, between reason and faith, the fruit I bore seems sweet to those blessed with filtered water, far from the Atlantic. I grieve at my mother’s sudden loneliness, my father’s eyelids hang forever heavy, my mother’s dulled knees through decades of prayer — accustomed to the weight. An alarming calm, tears flow and reign over us. Breath, fear where he is going, what lies beyond the ocean, galaxies unconverted, free of testimony, I am Holy.
