And there
by the water tower
Jane stood
and I was thinking

of how I'd helped
my  father saw the logs
for the fire and stove
and the sun was beginning

to open up
and bring more warmth
and she was standing there
and I felt a glow

of happiness fill me
and she waved
as I approached
and I waved back

and as we got near
I said she looked
a sight for poor eyes
and she smiled

not knowing
what I meant I think
but anyway
she said that her father

had asked her to help
do the flowers
in the church
as there was to be

a funeral that afternoon
so she had helped
and I asked
who had died

and she said
an old parishioner who
had been a regular
churchgoer

and we walked on
along Bug's Lane
between the hedgerows
and bird were singing

and flying overhead
or from hedge to hedge
or over fields
and she asked me

how I was and I said
better for seeing you
and she laughed
and said so was she

and I was tempted
to hold her hand
but didn't want
to be seen

as presumptuous
and so I didnt
but I did smell
the scent of flowers

on her
and it drew me
to her even more
and I said what's

the scent you're wearing
it smells nice
and she said it
was she mother's

that her father
had bought her
and her mother said
she could wear some

and so she did
and we walked on
towards the small church
a good walk away

that warm
flower smelling
sun pouring down
summery day.

Money is scarce, trying to make ends meet
Hoping to get back on my feet.
Food in the fridge is very low- do not know which way to go.
I just lost my cell phone, now the creditors are calling at home.
Late notices are in the mail, threatening to take me to jail.
I was starting to lose hope and faith, and none of these
Creditors are willing to wait.
So down to my knees I did fall, and no more excuses left to stall.
With tears in my eyes, I started to pray, asking my LORD
To show me the way.
Dear LORD! I do not know what to do, so I must depend on you.
I know that I had turned away and that I no longer would kneel to pray.
I need you like before, when I was down you opened the doors
I was a churchgoer, a believer in you, you gave me everything
My family too.
Now I am starting to lose it all – and on you, I must call.
Give me back the strength so that I may move ahead
Help me to get rid of this bed.
Depression will steal your will to live, and I have so much to give.
Family and friends are all around. Yet! I do not hear a sound.
They all say I must find the way to fight this sickness day to day.
Then from the corner of my eye, a flicker of light began to shine.
A light becoming like the blazing sun – with   a voice saying
                   HIS “WILL” BE DONE
I saw a form starting to take shape, and an angel then appeared
And started to wipe away my fears.
Depression is a state of mind , and the devil will keep you blind
Just search out the light that lies ahead, and the LORD will clear your head.
This is the message he had given to me, and now my mind is set free.

Sunday for the churchgoer
the sower of the seed
I'm at home relaxing
with everything I need.

In the flock,
there's always that one
who tends to dawdle and to stray,
leading poor old shep the sheepdog
when it hides, to seek away.

And from the pew
religion too,
from the TV
one more soap,
but if one stray sheep reaches heaven
then for me,
there must be hope.

A young man who loss his Mom
He mourned his Mother so in thinking he was alone
The young man’s tears felt like a waterfall
But the young man’s passing Mother put the breaks on in stall
The young man’s Mother was a devoted Churchgoer, she would have said, “God will always be at your side no matter what, and he will even see you through consequences when you think you are stuck”
Yes Mama has gone on home
But you stay in the Church and don’t you roam
The Church is where you need to be
God is the one too whom you need to see
“When you think you are alone, the Lord will encourage you in letting it be known”
You might think you are alone because there is no one physically there
Yet it is the feeling of quiet and no movement beyond compare
God is for all and it’s his abundant he wishes to share
As you walk and talk
As you praise and sing
The whole process is too be inspired
Alone being a short phase
But this is all of part of God’s amaze
So when you think you are alone, it will always be God in what is shown
Alone in your mind, God’s resources of everlasting combined
Always remember, God is genuine.
