"apeased" poems
In King's dream his wishes were apeased,
But never he would believe
The the things that I have seen
The glory and the shame
Ignorant people still known by another name
Malcolm X inspired the rebel in me
To peek behind the curtain
See the behind the scenes
That the government does devious things
However that man said "..By any means.."
And by any means Barrack helped Martin
Fulfill his dreams
I devote my dreams to Wisdom and Knowledge
In hope that one day
People won't have to work to go to college
That the government would be about the people
and not the politics
In hope that the slaves be freed
You see we are all slaves to society
So like Martin I have a dream,
That I can say I'll bring to life by any means

Here I am
Where am I?
I stare at you
You stare at me
I see you speak
But hear nothing
My mind wanders
I hear some words
Birds are chirping
Why am I hungry?
I just ate lunch
Is the Earth calling me?
Phones are ringing
Tweets are tweeting
Are you ok?
Are you paying attention?
I nod my head
But heard nothing
You look apeased
My goal is accomplished

Once upon a time ago
This time in memory wanes
A friend I once came to know
Is no where now it seems
There are times it feels I'm getting close
But each time the disappointment grows
Searching and longing eternally
For the feeling that comes and goes
How easily apeased in youth
The simple things delighted
Now soured into bitter vermouth
Contentment uninvited
Seeking but continued elusion
The feeling now is just confusion
Wanting and waiting impatiently
For the feeling I let go
