Childhood
Vipul Mehra Apr 2015
Thrown away carrom men
Hunting for the queen
Grey white turqoise marbles
a spinning top on the table
an electric motor a gadget then
bifid nibbed fountain pen
Cassette wheels and a chip of steel
ran faster than ritzy hotwheels
tazos and trumps spurred triumphant jumps
peacock clay in redolent sandalwood
I collected and carry in the treasure of childhood

Chandelier
Vipul Mehra Apr 2015
They were hanging conspicuously held by the warmth of the sun,
refracted glimmer by each crystal, they shared their blissful fun.
As I walked underneath, they poured upon me the shadows of crystal slate
Lesser did I know, the scintillating chandelier reflected my own fate.

Contemplating thoughts
Vipul Mehra Apr 2015
In the darkness of isolation, thoughts were caged,
Peeking into the depths of oblivion, the universe seemed staged.
Lost in chaos drifting helplessly with the tide,
Aloof was the shore, for a wonder blooming buds waved beside.
