Breath

How many times
must my mind
bury you, and my
heart keep you alive?
How adept at shattering
and gathering must I
become, before the work
that was said unto us,
trialed thus...cease?
Breath is the sound that
answers that silence...no matter
what, I cherish your breath
as you cherish mine.
There are some things as
dear as breath...though they
may come and go.

such a sweet tinkling
to bring such ugly words
you are an animal
you are a monster
you are right
i never deserved you

I did not do it for you,
punch that mirror,
slice my hand open,
which is now stitched up.

I did it for me,
to get through to the reflection,
to inform them,
they are better without you.

I did not do it for you,
I did it for the hand attached to me,
because it will never know
the pain of being alone.

I did it for me,
So I could justify my crying,
I wasn't some stupid girl,
Upset over a boy.

I didn't do it for you,
I promise,
I did it for me,
I love to hurt.

The broken strings of guitar
The unsweetened taste of chocolate
The unfinished puzzle
The weakened bricks of decaying building
The flower ripped from its stem
The blackened rainbow
The locked door
The vacant room
The Juliet without Romeo
The family without home
The darkness without light
The song without sound, melody and harmony
The body without soul

The heart with no love

The Girl without life.

~
Silhouettes and darkened skies
Nightfall finds a lonely heart
Wishes sent on fireflies
Thoughts on velvet heavens chart

Promises of wind born flow
Shadows dance a slumbered song
Here beneath a full moon glow
Dreaming as the night is long

Parting fields, desire’s cry
Calling out in echoed whim
Imagination, child’s eye
Pleading you were here again

Reaching out for what I miss
Far beyond this empty stare
Seeking tenderly your kiss
Moments in the night to share

The hour late, a silence falls
My eyes now gaze a northern star
Appearing as it softly calls
So very close, so very far

Yet in this vision I can see
Illumined on the sky so bright
That you do send your love to me
*A perfect feeling on this night
Good night Beautiful

Mother Nature
that wise woman
threw a storm the other day.

It nearly took out Florida
with its raging rains and
tempestous winds.

She's been a bit tempermental of late,
what with the radiation pouring out of Japan,
the plastic clogging the Northern Gyre.

Coral reefs dying off are really
rocking her boat.  The rising carbon dioxide's making her itchy,
just look at how she's growing that poison ivy now.

Monarchs are starving.
Bats are dying off with the sniffles.
She's **** near had enough.

Makes me tremble in my boots,
just thinking what she is truly capable of
if she decides enough IS enough....
