The moon is in eclipse
She swirls a scarlet cloak
around midnight
Unicorn stars silver bright
fall to the darkened Earth

She is an invisible shadow

The dawn is blushing
as the sun gazes at her
from her misty horizon
She whirls a few lace clouds
around herself

He brings her gold
with which to adorn her hair
She melts into the sky

Christmas Day dawns.
The cat has loftily ignored it’s litter tray
in favour of a shoe.
The Christmas tree mopes,
it’s tinsel drooping
and the lights dimmed.

Aunt Ethel has outdone herself
with polka dot teatowels.

mysteriously printed on them
I hope she dies this year.

as yule log burns

it’s  christmas morning
you can follow reindeer tracks
back to the north pole

sensual moonlight
butterfly sipping flower
drunk upon nectar

silver in moonlight
hare is dancing for his love
spring comes green the land

stars write poetry
never read or heard yet shines
illuminates earth

joyful bird of hope
symbolising renewal
christmas in his song

dreams fade at sunrise
bright birdsong awakens me
robin sings sweetly

growing towards light
is the wisdom of flowers
humble teachers all

daisy is smiling
she is captured in a chain
small life fades away

golden oriole
ripple of sunshine in sky

raven watching me
medicine is mystery

noble lives wasted
lions were led by donkeys

sweet shy in velvet dress
colour of empresses upon an innocent flower
she rules us with perfume

Scarlet, crimson, alizarin,
I name you flame
I call you passion
Your velvet petals growing
in spiral mystery
Embracing the bee
that sips her nectar

I find it hidden in my garden
a secretive flower
I slowly unfurling it’s dusky petals
caressing it’s long stem

I am drawn to it’s inner bud
and caress it with my tongue until
sweet nectar flows

I am the Queen Bee
that creates honey from nectar
Grows orchids from black earth
and passion from poetry

Two new roses
growing next to each other,
silky petals just touching
Their delicate stamens
the sighing breeze
sets up a rhythm of caress

A honeybee brushes between them
understanding the ways of young flowers
His probiscus delicately probes
until it releases a flow of nectar
They comply
reluctantly opening

As a heady perfume
is released into the air,
the honeybee replete
weaves his way back to the hive
He hums with intoxicated
honeyed repletion

The first peach ripened
on the young tree
is easily plucked
It’s velvet against my lips
the ******* of it’s delicate sweet juices

Some cream to pour over it
then we eat it together
Our tongues touch
it’s soft flesh yielding

Then for a single plum
with it’s silken bejewelled skin
I delve deep to release
the gushing juice
anticipating
fresh figs, persimmons, morello cherries

Cleft of mystery
shadow leading to hidden waters
A mysterious spring that feeds
the well of dreams

Essence of rose,
she is bound with silver chains,
released to ride the night

At sunset I enter
love’s Eleusian mystery
Lost in her flowing waterfall
of midnight hair

She is rose and jasmine
and tigers breath
Orchids of night surround us
ecstatically she sips their nectar

Moon moth and night blooming flower
at sunrise vanishing
into the carmine sky

O Holly and Ivy
they are both in full moan
No Christmas tree for them because
the delivery man let them down

O the disappointment  of the sales
of hangovers undeserved
Don’t leave your curtains open
for the next door neighbour perves

Our neighbour is called Blossom
so white with nausea
She polished off the Prosecco
then threw up on our rug

O the horror of our relatives
and the misery of mince pies
Not so bad when you’re eating them,
but they end up on one’s thighs

Snowdrop tender
you have the strength,
the power of iron
to grow through ice

Flower of hope and endurance
your slender droop
in your bellflower dress
dancing over diamond snow

The owl is a breath
of subtle midnight air
A dream, a whisper,
dark phantom of the evening

His shadow is menacing
His cry a death song
A fairy in her moonlit garden
hides from his fierce gaze

Her children are concealed under flowers
She hopes that they live to see the dawn
A sudden swoop,
the snap of fairy wings
Innocence lost
outside of Eden

night perfume flower
only lovers enjoy you
scent fades with sunrise

a rippling song
robin defying rainstorm
liquid melodies

The Void of Creation
conceived from a dream
gave birth to infinity
which birthed the child eternity
from which evolved time

Time conceived death
and death gave birth to wisdom
which  gave birth to love

Merging together
they became the lost words
of forever
breathed softly from sleeping children
to a silent world
