A girl from south India
Unrolled her grief to me:
Being black is like a curse
No one approaches me
To me, every day is a tempest
The ocean seems black,
And so the sky;
No one seems to be smiling back.

O' dear, Believe in yourself;
I have heard of a boy:
The most beautiful of all
He's black, his name is Krishna;
Color is in the eyes and if it hurts
You haven't found the right eyes
Of the burden on your head
I shall make it lighter
I shall steal light from the stars
To make you a bit brighter,
And of your scars
I shall plea to Krishna that
You'll shine among the stars.
Women earned their way.
These are words a few men hate to say.
Yes, women earned their way.

Ministers stay stuck upon men in scriptures.
Leaving many loyal women out of the picture.
Some, still seeking them to be strictly submissive.

But research and see the truth of facts.
Women earned their way.
No need debating this because facts speak for themselves.

Like back then, many are survivals of trouble and love.
Long been known, some men are strictly trouble.
Afraid of the success of a woman.

Look, at your sister, aunt, mother or significant woman.
And admit their strength and say women earned their way.
They never defeated once they figure out what path to follow.
My wings fracture as you demand what I cannot give,
Images of my form,
though I've whispered no.
In this strange dance, I despise the shell and cherish the soul within—
Yet you remain blind to its glow.

Your eyes seek only bare skin; they dismiss my silent plea.
Follow the North Star
Until you can reach
The northern lights
There we'll dance
With the spirits of old
And know that we
Found a place
To call home
I never had a chance to see the northern lights... what a sight they must be.
Eyes of a deep, earthy brown meet my gaze – a clash of syllables;
she embodies the essence of the soil.  Her foundation is unwavering,
and she is no one to indulge in the comforts of tepid waters;
she’s meant to ignite.

She leaves me in suspense, yearning – my nerves tremble in the
dawn’s embrace, her presence a jolt to fuel my spirit.

An ode to the morning brew.
