Eyes of anthracite, ignite-
Fuel for my waning spirit
Food for my hungry soul.

Her rays mirrored sunlight,
And I, a humble acolyte:

Happily dirtying myself to worship coal.

The decades of pressure
Stifling in leisure, tiny slivers of pleasure.
Harsh force of demand.

Idle gem, form of a diamond:
Unaware of her own worth.

How often, is ignorance our ruin
And ourselves, our own undoing.
To eat our own words:

Every man is a leader

Leader of his life,
Chief of his destiny.
What incongruous cards
Fate can deal us
To permit the interruption
Of the aforementioned
And render some potential limited

The oyster we shall crack;
To unearth the pearl in every person.

Fix, any ill. Cure any poison

Shovelheads and pitchforks,
I give toothpicks what for.
Thin ****** in suits
Will get what's coming to them;
When these hardened hands
And sore jaw,
Finally give in

Just a dose of nanites
Neural pattern alight
Optic nerve, perfect sight
Lightning strike down my spine
New image, cultured design
Reverberations through my body and mind
Recall undeterred, I feel it all
And at the same time absolutely nothing
The emptiness of perfection, absent flaws
The bore of excellence
Is the struggle forgotten

To no avail

The slave spoke
Knelt beside his master
He choked out words of resistance
The odd things to have persisted
Man, even beaten into submission
Cut my hair, take my hands, even
Slice out my tongue
What have you done?
Weakness, confused as being strong
The right, obscured within the wrong
