let me forgive you

after all those apologies you still didn't care

Me
Sure you become
a sceptic if
only by revealing
your religion
people burn you
sure you become
a food keeper
sharing nothing
if all you had for decades
was just enough to save
your family
surely you skip
a beat when you hear
a car hurling
when something in you
remembers the sound
that a bomb shell makes
exploding
sure you adopted
all sorts of safe-guard mechanisms
and deeply and deeply
implanted
them in you and what followed

And I only
am here
alive
because of you
because of that

and am responsible
to see you
appreciate
and free you
my dear friend
To that part in me and all of you that just wanted us to survive  ❦
all-too-few feelings,
with strange endings, without beginnings,
in a no man's land of my soul.
It was a period of time,
Or rather a period of me,
It was something, that first ended,
And then began,
And timidly asked for the directions.
A lot of me
Is nonessential,
The rest is precious and existential.
