Pure Love

~

On the wings of
                 a watercolor rainbow
Fluttering turquoise
          tinted blushings
Paint in swirled
               illumined visions
Finding my eyes
                         a’ wandering

In melodic hypnotic
            wiltings
On a lonely summer’s day,
when all my mind
   seeks
is the wondrous beauty

Of your sweet smile
lighting
         my world
In delicate hues
of rose petal

Daydreams,
        caressing
              my eyes
                        in pure
                                 *Love
I love the smell of rain, that fresh odour of earth being fed.
Glorious droplets, fat with the elixir of life.
Spring water filtered by the weeping hills,
rain filling potholes ready for a child to jump in.
I love the sound of rain from soft to crashing.
Splish, splash, pitter, patter, drip drip drip,
rain talks to us.
I love the feel of rain hitting my upturned face,
to the weeping sky.
It contains a music, it sings to us,
and dances on our bodies, in a cascade of beads.
Covering all in its requiem of water.

Haley Lorish
What if it cost money to say,
                                                 "I love you"
Would you have said it
                                                      So soon?
Would you have said it
                                                     So often?
Would you have said it
                                                          At all?
I'm digging a hole deep and wide
I'll bury my love for you inside
then I'll fill it in, right to the top
and stamp it down, in hope to stop
these feelings that stumble from my core
and silence them forever more.

I'm building a wall as high as I might
behind it I'll hide my heart and my light
some stones once removed, now back, standing tall
they'll keep me within and forbid me to fall.

I'll paint on my smile, cherry red beaming wide
I'll laugh when expected, though empty inside
I'll move through this life like I haven't a care
but if you look closely
You'll see I'm not there.
