God
I will seek you with all of my heart.
Before I seek after other solutions
I will not look out for other alternatives ..
Instead I will seek you for answers and directions. The sooner I come I will correct my course.
And I will be well.
I will recover from my sadness.
My failures
And be quickly restored.
From the lonely desperate darkest pit.
The less I will feel perplexed,
Lost, therefore  certainty I will be taking the next step.

Too often I have sought you late in my troubles I have struggled and played the lonely road all alone.
After a problem arises, after I am bewildered and confused I have lost all direction.
I have lost my way.
The best time to contact you is before.
Not after.
If I seek you in the storm, YOU WILL STILL BE THERE.
You will hear me
You won't hide from me.
I will then seek you early before the damage is done
Then you will restore my joy
You will not see my shadow pass
the gate of mournings eerie dark
Nor hear my voice among the reeds
that grow above my silenced heart
No fondest kiss to furrowed brow
to quell the torment of your making
for you have left me here alone
to sleep the sleep that knows no waking.
The last line was pilfered from a Victorian grave stone. It was too beautiful to leave there.
I thirst, but not as once I did,
The vain delights of earth to share;
Thy wounds, Emmanuel, all forbid
That I should seek my pleasures there.

It was the sight of Thy dear cross
First wean'd my soul from earthly things;
And taught me to esteem as dross
The mirth of fools and pomp of kings.

I want that grace that springs from Thee,
That quickens all things where it flows,
And makes a wretched thorn like me
Bloom as the myrtle, or the rose.

Dear fountain of delight unknown!
No longer sink below the brim;
But overflow, and pour me down
A living and life-giving stream!

For sure of all the plants that share
The notice of thy Father's eye,
None proves less grateful to His care,
Or yields him meaner fruit than I.

Stranger Blue
To taste the bittersweet nectar of thy lunar lips.
Lie me hope, sing to me the song of the helix.
Proffer me the chance to breach thy bastion,
encompass thee in my love and compassion.
Sanction me to be that one whispering love stories
in thine ear while bathing in the Aurora Borealis
dazzling and clear.
You and I, a rickety tent and a love nothing less of
heaven sent.
In mine heart thou shalt forever remain.
My panzer maid grant me...the fall of rain.

Doug Potter
I was never the type
of child that obeyed
much  of anything;
not even the many
times  I was told
not to stare into
the evening sun
when I felt
alone.
"Admit it
when you're wrong
and
shut up
when you're right
for Hubris
lends itself to imbalance.
Instead,
embody rectitude:
be honest (even if only with yourself)
and have honor
and it shall speak for itself
and needs no introduction
nor epilogue
aside from itself."
