If everything ran
According to plan
How dull would life be
Without its demands

Without a piece of the pie
Missing a slice
There'd never be wonder
Or questioning why

While this statement to you
May sound less than true
What good is life
If you've nothing to lose

If it always felt right
With never a bite
Then no remedies
Would you need to find

We all wish for the day
Free of all pain
But you know what they say
About no pain no gain

What can you do
But to accept this as true
What good is life
If you've nothing to lose
Poem # 8 in my marathon...only 16 more to go!
I'm beginning to question my sanity!

i'm as lucid as a lunatic

playfully insane

over the moon like a loony tune

tiddly winking the day away

over the edge as if unhinged

flapping in the wind

being led by voices in my head

as they speak up once again

my elevator quickly passes

every other floor

but in my mind i still can find

the light of one more poem

Pardon me miss
But have you seen a kiss
It was here a minute ago

I ask if you could
Give it back if you would
As it was just a loan

If you find the kiss
It belongs on my lips
That's where all good kisses go

I won't hold it against you
But my lips they want to
As if you didn't know

The words will come
when you're sound asleep
And you've lost it all
and have nothing to keep

When your mind is shallow
and your pain is deep
And your eyes resemble
the clouds that weep

The words will come...

Palestinian Liberty

I hear your cries, I harken to your call,
Beautiful children, loving mothers I see you all,
Weeping orphans, bereaved parents I share your tears,
The bombs fall, panic, chaos I feel your fears.

Stay strong children of Palestine,
Stay strong oh family of mine,
For the day shall surely come,
When we will rise up as one.

Mutilated corpses, Rivers of blood,
Severed limbs lay on your sanctified mud,
Upon which prophets and martyrs stood,
Pillars of faith, your forebears, upholding all that is good.

You gave refuge to your captives in their hour of need,
You roots of usurpation, you planted that seed,
Graciously breaking bread with the holocaust survivors,
It is you who carry the standard of the emancipators,
Now it is you who call out for the liberators.

Will we laugh or cry at the irony,
That only the men of Palestine carry the bravery,
That only the women of Palestine bear the humanity,
That only the children of Palestine possess the capacity,

To sacrifice, to provide liberty.

I've heard it said
That love is blind
Well if that's true
Then shut out the lights
I don't want to see
The rest of my life
If love is blind
Then so am I
When it comes
To loving you
As I can't see
What else there is to do
Whoever said
I'm pretty sure they knew
That in my blindness
I'd find this true
That in my blindness
I'd be loving you

If it wasn't for Facebook
I'd have no memory
Of what all I've done in the past
And the many things I've seen

From most of what I do
To all of what I say
From my stretches of the truth
To the come whatever may

Memories pop up frequently
Like a slap in the face
Screaming do you remember this
From the good old days

Yes if it weren't for Facebook
My boring life would be extra dull
Since on my own I haven't a clue
As to what is going on

The main problem with this is though
I don't remember when
While all my family and friends say
Please not this again

I just wonder what I did before
Facebook kept my memory on tabs
Since I don't remember having a memory
Of a memory before that
I love when Facebook pops up memories from the past
but I swear some I don't even remember posting...
The greater the joy
The greater the pain

With knowing the sun
Will turn into rain

Doesn't help me to grieve
Doesn't help me at all

Watching her leave
And feeling the fall

So incredibly high
Now swimming in tears

I was touching the sky
With our love through the years
