~

Come float with me on velvet sound
As music floats the evening air
With melodies of hope now found
And timeless days we both shall share

The setting sun of curtains bright
So full of life and amber glow
Does dance the heavens curtained light
Brought forth in this, its daily show

To walk this course, the songs we sing
That lovers feel and hearts do shine
As harmonies of dusk now ring
In rhythms which are set to time

For dreams you see are cast in gold
With linings shimmering the sky
Till twilight lends its somber soul
Of silhouettes to pass us by

Where shadows play a subtle game
To win but only heart's desire
And passions form the poet's flame
In words that you alone require

Of patterns pure on violet skies
Enlightened as the moon beams pass
To see your face before my eyes
And feel your touch does come at last

For it is always what I dream
In lasting sound of lyrics true
To lay before this twilight scene
And sing the song of love to you
For my sweet friend Calpurnia Mockingbird...may you smile always shine.

If dreams were tangible, dear princess, I'd give you mine
this dream where unfading echoes never die
Back a long, grassy lane, a house once white, now greying with time
set against the ***** of verdant hill, and crowded amongst a hundred soughing pines
Nearby a sundappled wood with tranquil creek and mossy stones
Ferns tall as your waist and creamy mushrooms
Beyond stretch clover scented pasture haunted by purplish dusk and
ghosts of gurnsey calves with solemn eyes

To bring a smile to your lovely face and a song to your heart.
Above a garret where silvery moonbeams dance
scented by old mothballs and books from bygone days
their yellowed pages mildewed and musty with age
Perhaps some tear stained journal from yesteryears
penned by long dead poetess, kindred spirit facing hardships like our own
listening to this same ancient wind sweeping the trees, gaunt branches scratching windowpanes as souls forlorn
yes, I would give you all this, sweet princess, if wishes had wings
just to bring a smile to your lovely face

this dream where unfading echoes never die

Golden shimmers
Bright lights
The finer things in life
Waves crashing
Thoughts mashing
Finding out the unknown
Artist adventures
Musical excavations
Silver stars
Forever scars
Choosing your path
Mistakes made
Forgiving gaze
Monumental discovers
Shooting guns
Bright burning sun
Death of friend
Holding on til the end

Blue Sky

The days can feel so grey
and the clouds so very low
struggling through the hours
finding ways to not let it show

Its so easy to let it get you down
there's often a battle going on inside
feeling at the bottom,  exhausted
wading in deep water through this life

Need to turn it all around
look at things in a different way
clear your head of it all
in the hopes it'll lift the grey

Our surroundings are often clouded
but the sky is always blue
it's just we now have to learn
to look up and change our view

At times just believing this
will hopefully be enough
to keep us looking upwards
towards that blue sky up above
