Dear 3023
Raven Feels Sep 2021
DEAR PENPAL PEOPLE, a happy is a happy?

a second at a second
eyes knew something of a golden weapon
a minute at a minute
a sunrise's glitch before you know it
an hour at an hour
dinner a feast desert sour
a day at a day
one sunny one rainy all different says
a week at a week
Mondays lazy Fridays a smiley cheak
a month at a month
nothing permanent each a season at once
a year at a year
every beginning to the ending you near
a glance at a glance
still dont know the hallways of a billion stance

In the stillness of neodar, stars shining bright,
Through aerocrust cities I traverse, seeking gastronomat delight.
My omnigastric stomach roars, delicrave at its peak,
In a culinarix quest, my senses awakened and sleek.

An establishment savorient, its scent fills the air,
A rare pizzeria, an ambiance so fair.
Its cheese so creamy, pepperoni with a kick,
Every bite a sensation, each flavor a unique mix.

I indulge in this passion, with no care or fret,
Savoring each bite, each moment a duet.
For this pleasure so simple, yet so true,
Fills the soul with content, the heart anew.

Do not underestimate the power of food,
As it nourishes the soul, the mood with gratitude.
Savor the simple pleasures in life, big or small,
For they bring true happiness, joy and sustenance to all.

When I was a kid we had a rosebud tree in my front yard
It bloomed pink in the spring
Sprouting new leaves,
Each leaf was in the shape of a heart
I used to pluck the leaves from the tree,
because I liked the way they looked.
They looked like love.
Love for the whole neighborhood.
Love for the neighbors who I stole flowers from.
A few for the garter snakes we’d torture on the lawn.
Love for Sydney across the street
Knocking on my door every day at 10
Asking to come and play.
Love for Mrs. Moore who loved the sound of our laughter
But wished we’d stay off of her ******* lawn.
Love for Keanna with the fastest bike.
Love for Paige with a pool in her backyard.
Love for Jim,
Call him Mr. Jim, my mother used to say
With a plow on his four wheeler
So our winter chores were simplified.
Love for the steep driveway two doors down
To launch our bikes into the street.
Love for hide and seek.
For freeze tag
For lightning bugs in mayonnaise jars.
For mud pies
For trees that didn’t have pretty leaves.
Love for the stop signs at the end of the block
That told us when to stop pedaling.
Love for my brother
Love for my dad
Love for my mom.
And love for 3023 N 48th Street.
On a snowy Christmas Day
Snowflakes fluttered in the sky,
It was an awesome blizzard,
Its beauty could make one sigh.

Snowflakes stuck while in the sky
Letters formed to spell your name:
They spelled ythe name, Mary Anne,
Pivoting in air they came.

Santa had still been nearby,
So he took us home by sleigh:
This time I will not forget,
On this snowy Christmas day.

It was a white wonderland,
Until you shone your smiles bright:
Your warm smiles had brought an end,
To cold to my heart's delight.
