incandescent

Only in yellow flames,
was the outline of your body revealed,
In ethereal guise,
Chalk outlines and white lines defined my kaleidoscopic mind state,
at that peculiar time.
We should of seen the signs,
but the stars aligned,
and your nature, nefarious,
exposed the worst of both of us,
combined.
Sometimes aurora came before sleep,
and I was weak at the knees,
the calmest breeze whistled woodwind notes amongst the trees.
So sure, demure,
You asked me what I was waiting for?
And I reacted chemically,
in luminescence.
I asked you if you learnt your lesson?
It was evident that I was just your favourite daydream.
So I stayed in limerence;
exposed like windless nights to the star skies.
Infatuated by nothing more than candle light.
I knew I was wrong,
You knew you were right.
I knew you were wrong,
You knew I was right.
It is the jewel of the morning sky
It is a source of energy
A source of life
Everyone needs it
No one save for Almighty knows as to for how many years it has been burning
When it rises and when it sets
It gives us two of the most breathtaking sights in the world
Just this incredible myriad of colours fills up the sky
When the sun rises it announces the beginning of the day
Gradually everyone from birds to animals to humans
Start to get on the move
The day begins
And then at evening when it finally goes down in the distant horizon
Creating a visual spectacle
The artificial lights take over
The flavour all around changes
But it's not quite the same without the sun
During the winters when the body shivers and feels so very numb
It provides the much needed warmth and gives relief from the harsh cold winds
During the monsoons it is sometimes not visible
The dark and gloomy clouds conceal it
But after the clouds have broken down and a downpour is complete
The sun peeks out from behind
Just in time to meet 'vibgyor'
Ah!what a sight!!!
But during the summers it can be harsh
At times the sweltering heat can get unbearable
But then again it gives you the opportunity to tan your skin
And then of course there are ice-creams and shakes to look forward to
I have always loved the sun
I enjoy basking in it's glory
Feeling it warm every inch of me
Burning away my fears and insecurities
And re-energizing my soul
Oh dear sun!..what would i do without you?
You truly motivate me
In your presence i feel like superman
No task seems too difficult
No dream seems impossible
Red
the blood that
rushed
to the surface
as you closed
the distance
between
us

the stain
i left
on your
lips
as we tried
to catch our
breath

the pulse,
the tension,
the passion,

the confetti
of affection
that graced
the moment.
the smoke that
filled the humid
atmosphere
as i saw you
dancing with her

the pictures
i burned;
two years of
memories
now ashes

the graphite on
my fingers
as i tried to
recover you
in poems

the bags under
my eyes
as rest leaves me
the way
you did

the envy
i felt
towards myself
before i met
you
Maybe
it
isn't
what
I
thought
it
would
be.
we are stuck
in a compulsive
conundrum
of being
simultaneously
one thing
or the other
always at the
mercy of the
benefit of the doubt
matters are
nothing more
than fragments
left to our own
imaginations
in constant denial
of the power
that rests
on our hands
the panacea
to all mysteries
left hanging
and when
we finally
muster enough
courage
to open the
hypothetical box,
we only find
ourselves
inside it
undecided
simultaneously
living
and dying
