The Guy

The guy that takes good care of me
Buys me medicine when I'm sick
Buys me food when I'm hungry
Takes me out on dates
Really knows how to love me

The guy that comforts me when I'm sad
Holds me close to his heart
Caresses my back with his strong hands
Plays with my hair to soothe my soul
Really knows how to understand

The guy that has fun with me daily
We smile and we laugh
We're like little children
The games make my heart sing
Really knows how to win

The guy that sees me for who I am
Looks past my flaws and imperfections
So kindly deals with my insecurities
And tells me I'm beautiful
Really knows ******* my worries

The guy that is my best friend
My one and only confidant
My soulmate since forever
He's my everything, my all
Really knows how to get her

The guy that I give my heart to
The guy that is worth all my time
The guy that always comes through
The guy that I'm fortunate to call mine
Poorly written in my opinion but I wanted to pay tribute to someone so important to me. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful lover.

If I told you
you were a sonnet,
English, of course,
fourteen lines of excellence
capped with a heroic couplet,
you’d tell me you
only liked the Italian poets.
If I mentioned you
were as subtle as
Water Lilies,
you’d point out that
you preferred modernism
to French Impressionism,
and if I said I loved you,
would you agree with me,
for once?

I know this girl who's pain inside,
Is so strong its impossible to hide!
She wants to cry almost every day,
Cause all the things that people say!
She tries her best to stay strong,
It's hard to pretend for so long!
She once said so loud and clear,
Loud enough for all to hear;
"I've had enough of being here,
The rest of my life I'll live in fear!
I've tried my best day after day,
I can't continue my life this way!
One last chance before I go,
I wrote this message so you know!"

She carried on one last time,
Until she decided to commit that crime.
She'd had enough it got too much,
That was it one final touch.
She grabbed those people who brought her down,
Everyone in and out of town.
She once said so loud and clear,
Clear enough for all to hear;
"I've had enough of being here,
No longer will I live in fear!
I've tried my best day after day,
I can't continue my life this way!
One last chance is all I had,
I wrote this message so you won't be sad!"

No one heard her quiet voice,
That was it she made her choice!
She ran away the very next day,
Nowhere to go nowhere to stay.
She went so far but still got found,
Lost her life with no one around!
She once said so quiet and clear,
Far too quite that no one could hear;
"I've had enough I'm feeling weak,
A little love is all I seek!
Help me out before it's too late,
Why am I surrounded by so much hate?
It's time for me to finally let go,
I wrote this message for the world to know!"

That was it the end was here,
She made it known, she made it clear!
Everyone was silent and so shocked,
After all her life was mocked!
They made a symbol of a little blue bird,
No one dared to say a word.
She once said with so much fear,
So much fear for people to hear;
**"I hope that now I am gone,
You realise what happened was so wrong!
Next time you say something bad,
Think of the feelings that person had!
I'm now happy and feel so free,
You don't need to worry about me!"
T'was the night before Christmas
And with everything done
The kids were all dreaming
Of Christmas Day fun
The tree was completed
We had wrapped all the toys
When from the basement below
We heard a faint noise
I sprung from the couch
Took off down the stairs
On my way through the kitchen
I tripped on two chairs
I slid down the staircase
To the base of my house
And there with my shortbreads
Was a ****** great mouse
My wife followed close
And then she let out a shriek
She saw me and the mouse
And she started to freak
He nibbled the cookie
and he ran past my nose
right down my torso
Then he stopped at my toes
My wife was still screaming
The mouse didn't care
He continued his running
On under the stairs
I crawled to my workshop
Grabbed the first thing I found
A mallet for pounding
That mouse in the ground
I limped to the staircase
And I swung at the wall
I again lost my balance
And again, I did fall
I put two holes in the riser
Two more in the tread
I was gonna keep swinging
Till that mouse was dead
I broke the one lightbulb
That lit up the room
Now I was worried
I couldn't see...found the broom
I stepped on one end
Squared my self in the sack
I then heard a noise
The mouse had come back
I heard his slight skitter
As he went past my feet
He was off to the larder
For more stuff to eat
I went back to the workshop
Tripping at least three more times
I would finish this mouse
He would pay for his crimes
I grabbed for a lighter
And my large propane torch
I would hunt down this mouse
And his **** I would scorch
I lit up the propane
And I aimed at the stairs
It caught light on the carpet
And I burnt both those chairs
The flames went on upward
The stairs were quite dry
I laughed in hysterics
That **** mouse would fry
My wife had recovered
And decided to run
but, after seeing the flames
She phoned up 9 1 1
The mouse left the building
In fact, he never was found
The house burned in seconds
It collapsed to the ground
And through the whole scene
I just stood there and laughed
At the wreckage before me
And I thought, **** I'm daft
I had ruined our Christmas
And I burned down our house
Over a **** shortbread cookie
And one little mouse
The kids, they got out
And were wrapped up and warm
While I was creating
My own perfect storm
The gifts were all ruined
The house ...all consumed
And over my head
One large question loomed
If I had gone for the shotgun
And shot at the mouse
Would I be still having Christmas
And would I still have a house
My wife came on over
And she gave me a swat
She said "look what you've done"
"you great stupid ****"
I learned a great lesson
and folks ...it is that
Once I rebuild
I will then buy a cat!!!
