If the government can swear by fictitious statements

And then “walk them back” a little later

I’m going to join the fabrication party.

I hearby walk back my age by 20 years
And my weight by 20 pounds.

Curled up on a too-small sofa
       Misery oozes from every pore
The fan, a giant spider on the ceiling
Dimly seen in the pre-dawn darkness
Less dark than the shadows in my soul.

Another day of nothing happy
        Loiters just behind the sunrise
Daring me to find a way
To build a life from broken rubble

Wrote this a month ago when I was in a dark place. I'm better now.

I’ve spent half of my life waiting for the other shoe to drop
And the rest of my life picking it right back up again.

Your walk elegant
as if in a dream
A vision of loveliness
is how you are seen

Long and lean your body
with a big loving heart
Knew you were special
from the very start

Our brothers a lucky man
to have fallen for you
How you love him back
For him
A dream come true

When it comes to love
2 things are a must
Your relationship
has both
they are
friendship
and
trust
So glad my brother found someone so lovely

On This Christmas Day With Trump

There's an odd Santa Claus
In the air
Riding and laughing
Atop Trump's hair
Even through the fluff
Blinded by the glare
Reindeer pulling gifts of prayer
Through the roots they go
Low lights here and there
Laughing in despair
** what sadness  it is to stare
On a one,
****
White Horse open
Night mare
**, **, **
Ploop
Open open mouths  a sneer
Tounges at war appear
Whispers everywhere
Laughing in despair
Hats off
We spare
To the red suited fare
Abound
And confound
To Trump's
Wishy washy care
Waiting in repair
**, **, **
Santa,
My good man,
We have clause
To tear
You're in a mess
To bare
For humbug in Trump
So held in arrear
We're crying in despair

This was all in fun. Maybe. When Santa's reindeer return home their coats are due for a cleaning. I, mean, after all look what they have been through. The American people, too, need a spiritual cleansing when the next election takes place.
