dreams.
Jennifer Phan Feb 2018
i lay in bed as once again
til light shines in my room is when
my eyes open, slumber i rise
with cheeks still wet from tears i cry

worn out, asleep, is when i seek
for dreams, out far, yet so in reach
her touch i miss still burns like flames
yet now the fire of love brings shame

year by year, we both meet new
and yet to me, our love was true
her smile, her palms, would not meet mine
but yet to him, her eyes would shine

yet when our time grasps onto six
i wonder if it's me she'll pick
i wonder how our now 'came then
as i lay in bed once again

Garden
Jennifer Phan Feb 2018
She walks by the Garden at five everyday,
The same bouncy skipping with basket in hand,
To see her small Children just waiting to play.
Forgetting her Family she could never stand.

She walks by the Garden at five every week,
With her lip gloss matching her flowing dress.
Away from their petulant cries of geek.
In Their knowing comfort, she would confess.

She walks by the Garden at five every year
With her lover planted right next to her side.
No farewell from Fallow except from her dear.
No sign of liveliness unless They could hide.

She walked by the Garden at five one last time
Yet Wilting and Weeping is all she could find.
