Dec 2014
Frightened he waits alone.
In prison of roof and white walls.
Why do they hide him there,
can they not see he's scared?
Mama says, "He's just not right in the head."
Sister says, "Leave me be for the rest of the day."
How can they hide such a treasure in the darkness?
Brilliant of mind and wrapped in ugly flesh.
Inspired by a child I met who was autistic, and his family members would lock him in his room when they had visitors.
