The Ruby Slippers

For me they are something to follow For her they are a beacon of hope. They are dirty and ratty and more than a few years old But they are beautiful to me and more so to her. They say you should walk a mile in someone’s shoes But I’ve gone on a journey without ever putting them on. To say they save lives is an understatement, ‘Cause wherever the ruby slippers go People are changed. One day they may be famous And I hope I’m around to see it. Those faded red converse on the cover of Every magazine. True they will be beautiful, But the person who wears them Will be the most beautiful of all.

This one's about my musician friend Ashley, check her out as Chasing Jonah. P.s. it made her cry
