I look at my shoes.
My shoes and my feet.
They feel tired, worn out, exhausted.
I know how far they've come--
All the times I remember:
Running from danger,
Running to safety,
Running for help,
Running with you.
My feet are tired.
My shoes are tired.
I look at my shoes.
My eyes close.

I dream.
I see you, with your
Tired feet,
Looking at my feet--
Realizing I have tired feet.
You try to help--
To pay attention--
To ask--
To smile.
Will these things help my tired feet?
You are there with me:
Four feet.
Four tired feet.

I can only last four feet.
My eyes can't see,
My feet won't walk.
Am I alone now?
I fall hard--
Down,
Down,
Down.
Is someone there?
Are you there?
Will you catch me, even though
You have tired feet?

I give you my strength.
