Poems
Oct 2020
keeping quiet
you are dead.
I didn't say those words
aloud for months.
I didn't talk about you
in past-tense.
I didn't tell anyone
what had happened.
you were dead.
you are still dead.
but speaking those words
into existence made
them feel too real.
I thought that maybe
if I never talked about it,
I could convince myself
that it wasn't true.
