It is the growth from spring

And the early morning mist

When she kisses me goodnight

It is the feel of her lips

It is the goodnight embrace

That comes with

The look on her face

As she tells me she loves me

She is safety

It is her brightness embracing my gloomy soul

When the world seems dim and dark and grey

It is the light in a dark and dismal world

The sunlight that brightens my dreary day

When the darkness closes in like an invisible cage

It is her that sets me free

When the earth begins to shake beneath my feet

It is her that calms the world around me

She is hope

It is the wind

That grows jealous of the flowers

Who are greeted by her heavenly presence

And I am the driving force of the wind

Ripping petals from stems

Bidding the flowers good riddance

The flesh they touch

I wish to be mine

Their grazing on her skin enrages me

I crave her so desperately

I pop the heads from the necks

Of any and all who displease me

I am envy

She whispers in my ear

Telling me that like lust, my wish is greed

It is the tides

Coming in waves of want and need

It is the malevolent vines

Planting poisonous seed

She tells me that

I am greed

And together

We are green
