You offered me your heart
Long before I even realized it
Light years before I understood
What that even meant

I was blind to it’s beauty
Blind to it’s heat
You carried it so open
Yet I didn’t hear it’s beat

Bare, you laid it on my bed
Where in I laid with you
I felt it beat between us
Yet I didn’t see the truth

I fought against your passion
I was hiding from your love
And
Then
I watched you sleeping

I knew I was in love with you...
