The light turns
a dim lit space
the cold creeps
summer is gone
the flowers of spring weep
I stare at the eye
an enigma of answers
a cruel joke
played in my mind
the last wind blows
the song fades
love leaves
and I am nothing.
Awake is sleep
distance impossible
a child laughs
and a sudden hush
worry is done
purse is empty
breathless is the air
another day turns unknown
I am in heaven
I am in hell
a symbol of sorrow
for those awake
toil is left undone
and dust gathers
on the box of my dream
only to be unrecogized
I am a nameless immortal
that passes the time
and waits for emptiness
life neither tragic nor fulfilled
traveling cog in motion
in a continuum of the symbiotic
that I do not control
