May 2017
at least for this day
it calls for a submission
a call to account
be engulfed by the terminal end of the sunlight hours
setting clouds, earth and sea alight
a final fiery anointing

whispers are that you are sorry
reaching some level of self-awareness
I wonder if you are enjoying the same clarity
like this one here
with the sun setting fire to the waters
lapping at my feet

confident here at water’s edge
I see what has happened
and choose not to be part of the psychosis
you continue to spin
stirring up micro storms and wreckage
fueling dark fires to cover your prickled hide

fire on water
is not the end of revelation
there is a pause for the night
I will sleep wiser
knowing that I have taken the right course
you are no longer part of my journey

this day ends
it takes my submission
and examination of conscience performed
subsumed into the terminal end of the sunlight hours
another fiery rebirth
it floods the dark
