Opaque

I tried, I tried to navigate through his opaque eyes I tried, To collect that little beam of light Travelling around the penumbra of his disguise. But instead he just gazed into the mirror. Excuses could not be simplified, So I just watched him lounge in a shallow river. The undercurrent ignored The surfaced reflection adored. Consumed by an image, An image of his replaced self. Disposed and undelivered, He had thrown me onto an abandoned shelf. And I suddenly became, His ornament in a crowned casket, An unearthed catacomb drowning in the opiate of his memory.
