You're cutting into my circulation,
And stealing away my oxygen.
You brought me comfort,
I assumed you'd always be near.

I let myself get too close,
I should have been more careful.
But I let you sneak up on me,
And time wasn't on my side.

But when I look at you,
I see past your eyes.
And though they're dark and beautiful,
I also find beauty in your mind.

I know your heart's been scarred before,
And you may be scared to let me stich it back together.
But I know how to use a needle,
Because I've had to mend my own a time or two.

So hand me a piece of thread,
And I'll use it on us both.
And I promise I won't let it break,
Because I've tied yours with mine.
