I remember you standing there.
The sun shining through your hair.
You were all I ever wanted.
But now I'm haunted.
By memories of a better time.
When you seemed to see through the grime.
And loved me for who I was.
But that was another life.
Now you're somebody's wife.
And I'm left walking this lonely road.
Nothing and no one to call my own.
