In half a second
a silent conversation
passed between us

Your eyes
dull and downcast
with dark bags
and droopy eyelids

Your mouth
the corners turned down
ever so slightly
with your jaw clenched

You were upset
and just a little mad
but not with me
at yourself

You always blamed yourself
even when others
were hurting you
Please don't blame yourself for what happened
