We never laid hands,
but there are cracks in the walls of the house
that we threw each other around.
You couldn’t stand to see me happy,
I couldn’t stand to see you down.
Who knew my compassion and your contempt
would become such good friends,
just to leave each other breathless
and broken in the end.
You said ‘we’re not meant for each other’
and there are parts of me that agree.
But you’re the head **** I’ll always love
and I’m the mind *******’ll always need.
